Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I'm kinda excited about Lagares suddenly. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!1
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Just the first step on the path toward the Hall of Fame career for my kid.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 It's Kirk going down.I'm right and you're wrong and brother, that feels good.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Let's see if Terry uses him out of the bullpen tonight. Yes, I know that Lagares is an outfielder...
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Lagares will wear #12, says Rubin, following in the footsteps of recent RH hitting OF Frenchy and Hairy. Leggy, we should call him?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 100 steals, 49 yerouts for the kid in his minor-league career. "Laggy," maybe?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 So who makes way for Marcum? I'm guessing... Familia.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 He would also be a good candidate for demotion, certainly.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Rubin reports that Andrew Brown has packed up his troubles and his underpants and is headed to Las Vegas. Corresponding move to be announced. Ankiel?OE: Rubin reports that a source indicates that it is Ankiel.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 I dunno. I was kinda thinking that Jordanny would be be demoted.Or detraded.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Ankiel shows up at the ballpark at 6:40 tonight, slips on uniform #22, stretches a bit, hits in the cage, and slams a bases-loaded pinch double in the top of the 9th to plate the go-ahead run in a stunning 6-4 Mets victory. Remember where you heard it first.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 We need a third guy to group with Byrd and Ankiel in the allroid outfield.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 never mind.... Rubin has him starting in center, batting seventh.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 wow that went down fast. I kinda thought Brown had the most tenuous hold on his job in the OF but that was in a no-new centerfielders scenario. Is Ankeil in right? That would be a nice pairing with Lagares defensively (and probably awful, offensively).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Burkhardt says he's starting in center tonight, with sort of triples the WOW factor.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Def surprising to see how quickly this all went down (particularly, what, two days after I dismissed it as an option) although, what did Gary say yesterday?, we're in line to face something like seven straight RHPs.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Ankiel asked for #16 for Doc Gooden, as per Guys!
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I thought Ankiel had to be at least 36 or 37. He'll turn 34 in July. He made his debut in 1999 just after he turned 20.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Mejia moved to the 60-day DL to make room.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The Tejada/Quintanilla shuffle is official, per Martino. Omar will wear #3.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Trying to remember the last time I saw that much blood shed in one day. Wish there was one among the three guys called up that felt like a little more than filler.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I know. It just seems like they're shuffling deck chairs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 I'll take it for what it is. I'm a little surprised not to see Flores, but Satin deserves it. A little odd to lose two lefties and gain two righties.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 This team just keeps redefining suck on an hourly basis.
