Chris Young vs Barry Zito. Are we allowed to actually win a series? Wicked pissah that'd be.

3:45 Eastern time first pitch, by the way.

It's alright when we're playing San Fran, as long as you're not saying it while at Chick Fil A or something.

So glad it's a day game, I'm apparently sick and would've stupidly stay up to watch it if it were a night game when I really need like 12 hours of bed time.

This game doesn't start for seven hours and we've already left four men on base.

That's only because Terry Collins told Bay (7), Davis (4) and Valdespin (4) that they have to sleep there tonight so they know how bad it feels to be left stranded there.

I made it more homophobic to suit your chicken sandwich loving needs.

Actually, following today's game, Giants fans are invited to pitch a tent in the outfield grass: pizza will be ordered, movies shown on big screen and an early breakfast served on Friday--- all for the low, low price of $250 per person.

Tempting, but pricy.

I love listening to west coast afternoon games on the commute home. Only get one or two a year, but they're a treat. I seem to remember the Beltran/Cameron collision taking place as I was listening on the way home.

Here's the nine that will attempt to bake Zito:

Tejada-SS
Torres-CF
Wright-3B
Hairston-RF
Murphy-1B
Bay-LF
Cedeno-2B
Johnson-C
Young-RHP

Bake Zito -- that's a standup triple right there.

Cedeno, Johnson, even Young -- if you bat lower than Bay, you may want to think about a new line of work.

That's exciting. I'm pitching a tent just thinking about it.

A righties delighty - only Murphy failing to keep the LHB's batter box undisturbed during the top of each inning.
Such a lineup didn't even seem possible until recently.

Giants lineup. As Mets fans remember from the 1990s, it's tough when one of your best hitters has to sit out as often as most catchers do.

Scutaro 3B
Theriot 2B
Cabrera LF
Pence RF
Sanchez C
Pagan CF
Belt 1B
Crawford SS
Zito LHP

Sub Turner in at first and it would be righier than a Nikki Haley rally.

Cedeno hits it to the wall, 2 runs in!

Howie says that was an error and decries casual effort of Melky to get it.

Mex making the same point on the SNY broadcast.

I agree, Gary agrees, Keith agrees.

4 runs on 2 hits* in that inning - it's like this game is the bizarro version of yesterday's.

* and it really should be one hit + one error

How that can be called a hit, I dunno. He ran past it and reached back, it goes off his glove. Pitiful call.

I'll reiterate, if the Mets decide to put Duda in left field next season, he'll look better defensively (on paper) because a lot of those UZR type stats are in relation to the other fielders at your position...like Melky Cabrera.

Oh, no doubt.

But part of getting Duda into left is getting Bay out of the way. And you can't get Bay out of the way if he gets occasional hits due to the indifferent play of... Melky Cabrera. So it's like circles within circles.

But Duda will still have to hit.
