Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 This game doesn't start for seven hours and we've already left four men on base.

DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Bay (7), Davis (4) and Valdespin (4) ... have to sleep there tonight Actually, following today's game, Giants fans are invited to pitch a tent in the outfield grass: pizza will be ordered, movies shown on big screen and an early breakfast served on Friday--- all for the low, low price of $250 per person.Tempting, but pricy.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I love listening to west coast afternoon games on the commute home. Only get one or two a year, but they're a treat. I seem to remember the Beltran/Cameron collision taking place as I was listening on the way home. Here's the nine that will attempt to bake Zito:Tejada-SSTorres-CFWright-3BHairston-RFMurphy-1BBay-LFCedeno-2BJohnson-CYoung-RHP
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Bake Zito -- that's a standup triple right there.Cedeno, Johnson, even Young -- if you bat lower than Bay, you may want to think about a new line of work.

I'm pitching a tent just thinking about it.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Wright walks with 2 outs. Let's get 'em in Hairston.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Jason Bay with an opportunity (to take a big shit in the batter's box).
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Wow! Is that allowed by the MLB rules?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Bay's not totally worthless today.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Cedeno hits it to the wall, 2 runs in!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Howie says that was an error and decries casual effort of Melky to get it.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 And they get Zito's ERA up over 4.4-0 Good Guys.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 4 runs on 2 hits* in that inning - it's like this game is the bizarro version of yesterday's.* and it really should be one hit + one error

He ran past it and reached back, it goes off his glove. Pitiful call.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 At least call it defensive indifference. What an ex-Yankee this guy is. Hit .350 and don't give a shit.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I'll reiterate, if the Mets decide to put Duda in left field next season, he'll look better defensively (on paper) because a lot of those UZR type stats are in relation to the other fielders at your position...like Melky Cabrera.

And you can't get Bay out of the way if he gets occasional hits due to the indifferent play of... Melky Cabrera. So it's like circles within circles. But Duda will still have to hit.
