Fman, you're my eyes. Should Turner have had that one? Howie and Josh are killing him.

Turner ass-umed Hairston would be there. Hairston was playing near the warning track. Turner should have been there.

Probably... or called to Hairston sooner. JT was closer, but seemed to have no bead on it, due to the glare.

That said, it hung in the air a LONG time.

Thanks, guys. Too many day games this year. At least it's not Wayne Hagin any longer - I'd have had to go with the Nats guys, or maybe the Spanish broadcast.

Gonzalez out. Stammen in.

Because the only time you should fear a "Gio" is when you're riding in one.

I told you so.

On the scoreboard last night, they had a picture of Gio Gonzalez which his arm folded and the quote "every fifth day is my day." Not THIS fifth day.

Rubin tweets that another reliever will be added before Batista's start on Saturday. I guess Nieuwenhuis will go.

Wright with another HR. Whoa 9-1.

I know they're kindasorta saying it with their bats, but I wouldn't mind if, say, Wright hits another home run and circles the bases with both middle-fingers raised. Y'know, get a little heel heat going.

Let Dickey go 5 and start him on Saturday. Unless you think the fucktards in the bullpen could screw this one up..

Hell...at this point I'd let Ankiel try out in the bullpen.

He'd do it for sure but he's booked to go on Leno and audition for Steven Tyler's role on Idol this weekend.

Wright is single-handedly trying to bullpen-proof this game.

There were a lot of times in 2007 and 2008 when the Mets needed to close out a series sweep to really build a comfort zone in case they struggled a bit down the stretch and didn't do it. Hopefully this is similar, just in reverse.

No thank you.

On to the 6th, with Stammen about to start his third frame. If Terry were managing the Nats, they'd be using Burnett here, after having gone through Stammen and Gorzelanny.

And they should stop preventing Teddy from winning, too. You know the Roughrider would be destroying these guys. Heck, they'd he saying "Teddy, you need to let some of these other guys win once in a while."

The Nationals GM said that they released Ankiel rather than a reliever when activating Storen because they play a double-header on Saturday.

LWFS: True! I think that Davey accepts that you will lose some, this is a loss, so why burnout the bullpen, especially with 4 games against the 2d place team this weekend.

MGIM: the President's Race used to be a big deal but it's not anymore except for kids and tourists. The PA guys says "It's time for the main event!" which makes me wonder about the import of the game I'm there to see. The predictability of Teddy losing grew tiresome two seasons ago.

Stammen out after retiring seven in a row, then giving up a two-out double to Tyrna.

I'm guessing... Davey's legs were getting all Charlie-Horse-y, mebbe? Definitely smells like a Charlie Horse pitching change.

Ouch!

I've read that he was considered a contender for the GOP nomination in 1920 -- until the sad event of January 5, 1919 put the damper on things.
