batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Meaningful Met games two weeks before the Memorial Day weekend. Who woulda thunk it?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 This amuses me, so I'm going to share it. Ike/Wright's combined slash line: .285/.418/.455
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Some Mets numbers heading into their series with the Reds:All hit, no field Josh Thole's defensive WAR (BRef ver.) is 0.4. Thole leads all Mets in dWAR and ranked in the top 10 among all NL'ers until his current injury caused him to miss enough games to drop him to 11th place.Daniel Murphy, the accident that can't wait to happen, leads all Mets in games played.Going into tonight's loss against the Brewers, David Wright's 2012 WAR was 2.0. By comparison, Eddie Kranepool's career WAR (1962-1979) is 2.2.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Is anyone going to this game? I was gunna go last nite but turned off by the rain. Tonight could be slightly better.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Shibboleth. I thought this started tomorrow.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Mike Leake appears to have been going to Bronson Arroyo's salon.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Kirk Nieuwenhuis caught stealing on an off-speed pitch, having slid past the bag. Not the most committed of jumps. More like a "might as well" jump.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 SNY's super-cam disagrees with Howie-- it came off by a visible inch for a split-second.Speaking of commenter-things-- Keith seemed to be actively trying to jinx Murph during his inning-ending groundout ("He should KILL this guy," "Murph should eat up sinkerball guys like this," etc.).
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Devin Mesoraco kinda has a shrunken-Joe-Klecko look to him.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Mike Leake makes like a Rolling Stone in scoring from first on a two-out double. (A decent relay from left JUST fails to get him at the plate.)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 "Of COURSE Mike Baxter is frisky on the bases... he grew up running to catch the Q44 and QM16 buses in Whitestone, Queens. Have we mentioned that before? Because he did."
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Nice catch from Baxter to save some run-age on the Cozart liner.Keith remotely, um, expressing his support/admiration to Joey Votto in the on-deck circle is why the SNY broadcast is the best in baseball.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Johan through 6 on 95 pitches, with a little more help from Mike Baxter and Red hitters' windmill-like qualities. The Met offense? Just through, apparently.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Votto's brainfart deserves, like, 4/5 of Ike's RBI. Still, though... nice.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 If only we could teach Duda to jump. Like, three or four inches, even.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Collins fucks up again leaving Parnell in to hit but wasting the ab by putting Rauch in.Big, big mistake.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory....
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 And now we're bringing Carrasco in, to pitch in a one-run game we intend to keep close.How... unconventional.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 "That second run was charged to Carrasco, who in his... tenure as a Met, has accomplished nothing."-Gary, last half-inning
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 How is Chapman not closing for this team? Dusty Baker is a tard. I think he's got a toothpick lodged in his brain.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Wow, I put this up with the two Frankie fuck ups over the weekend. Another horrible loss.Congrats on the site being given its clean bill of health.
