Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Hmmm. Ending Thole's day off to try to keep the rally going with two out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 One more hit will get us back into this thing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 And he singles, but that's sort of part of my point. He's a singles hitter and there's two out and nobody in scoring position. But what they hey, let's keep it goin'.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) And honestly, for a defensive specialist, Nickeas has kind of been a shitshow behind the plate.Man alive, did Parnell, like, stare down Terry's nubile niece or something? What's up? Edited April 27, 2012 by Guest

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I wish we were allowed to hit 3R HRs too.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I think that was the first decent throw we've made tonight.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I think I may have underrated how terrible this Rockies team is at everything BUT smacking belt-high fastballs. (Coaching inclusive.)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Hit #13 turned into an out based on some real hustle by Murphy.Isn't that Murphy's M.O. in a nutshell? He sure stays with a play.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I'm not ordinarily a Code Red kinda guy, but... um... Fowler could probably use a punch in the balls from somebody.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Time for Murphy to put an offensive mark of his own on this game.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Awright Hairy, let's see what ya got.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Tuning in. Looks like a real pitchers' duel.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Everybody who had "Catcher's Interference On A Pitchout" on your Bingo card, congrats. Is swinging at a pitchout-- essentially, TRYING to hit the catcher's hand-- dirty pool? Sure seems like it.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 No really, we can still win this.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 We punted with Schwinden to begin with. He's just not good enough.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I predict we score 10 runs in the 9th, the last 4 on a Ike Davis Grand Slammy

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I wasn't watching at all, but I checked online in the middle of the fifth and the Mets had just scored four runs and taken a four-run lead. I toyed with the idea of watching for a little while, but opted not to. So I just missed the joy of seeing the Mets give up 11 runs in one inning. That open rotation spot is going to be tricky, isn't it? Does Schwinden get another shot in five days? I'd rather see Schwinden than Batista, but I'd rather see Hefner than Schwinden. Are there any other viable options within the organization?

He might be two starts into his Met career if they hadn't screwed up and called him up earlier to bail out the bullpen for a single game.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 My guess is that they'll let Schwinden take his next turn and if that goes well he'll get a third start, and if not, he won't. But that's just a guess.
