Going for our seventh win in nine games at Turner Field. Howie and Josh were fretting the forecast for Tuesday night. The Braves should be fretting Johan.

wonder if the Mets consider(ed) flip-flopping Santana and Dickey so they don't have to worry about start-stopping Johan.

I imagine they'll still try to keep Johan just shy of 100 pitches though, hoping for a good 6 this time.

BLUE!

well, the guy's shoulder is newly surgically repaired. On the other hand, I'd rather he build up to 110-115 pitches now with the extra day of rest before and after, so that maybe 100-110 isn't as much as a strain when he doesn't have the extra day.

Both of the next two games look to be in some jeopardy. Sounds like there will be gaps between the rainfall, so I suspect they'll get both games in, but it could be very long and very messy.

This Afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 75. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then showers likely. Low around 57. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Showers likely before 8am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8am and 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Two-year anniversary of the 20-inning game with the Cardinals, when Tony LaRussa more or less forfeited, and Jerry Manuel barely accepted.

Six hours and fifty-three minutes.

I made that my goal for the Marathon - I could finish the race in less time than a Mets game, so long as that was the game :)

Is it me, or do Panamanian players seem to have the perpetual serious-/sadface?

"Laboring" doesn't begin to describe this inning.

On the plus side... way to waste Diaz, Fredi! WHO'S HE GOING TO CLOBBER NOW?

As if this game isn't bad enough so far ... we're getting some knocks but are hitting some absolute at'em balls.

oe: and as I'm typing this we finally get a hit but on a piece o' shit pop up

I appreciate the friskiness/emphasis on run scoring. But, um... what long man is pitching those other eleventeen innings to go tonight?

Eh, it's not like we have another game 12 hours after this one or anything.
Oh wait ...

Perhaps starting Dickey right after the one guy who's most likely to leave after an inning wasn't the best rotation planning.

It's astounding how well the whole getting-hits-with-people-on-base thing correlates to the run-scoring thing.

Somebody left the gate open. Somebody left the gate open... indeed.

wait, why not? Start the best pitcher after the guy recovering from surgery and theoretically limited seems like good planning.
