Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Jeez, Pelfrey.Gets ahead of Nix 1-2 and then throws three fastballs high, not particularly close to the zone.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 2-1 through 2. Pelfrey laboring, missing zone with fastballs, floating curves. but hey, the Phillies suck so they can't string together enough bleeders t oscore.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Still, man, so great to see Davis' season finally under way.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Same Old Tall Glass of Water. Physically, he seems to have all the tools. It's got to be in the head.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Maybe, but mechanical perfection and consistency isn't just born of the mind.Meanwhile, stop bunting, world.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Pelfrey hanging in there through five. One run allowed and 87 pitches in.Meanwhile, Wright gets his average up to .600. .600!
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Agreed it's not born of the mind but the mind is necessary to execute once/if the other pieces are in place. There are plenty of examples where athletes of "limited" physical ability produce because of the mind. There are many others where physically "superior" athletes never realize their potential -- generally due to shortcomings north of the shoulders.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Or, as God tweeted today, "65 years ago today, Jackie Robinson became the Jackie Robinson of being the Jackie Robinson of something."
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Dammit. We pay for the wild pitch right there.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 The magnanimous way to describe early returns on the Pagan trade is "inconclusive."
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Wright smoked that ball right at the guy, he's on fire right now!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Rube trying to put this game beyond our reach.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Walk to Rollins and it's Hunter Pence with the bags loaded.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 I have the sick feeling that I'm not going to like how this ends.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 "I'm Acosta. I a-come to a-cost-a you any a-reasonable chance of a comeback."
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Real shit effort from Rube today. Careless error, didn't run out a near-fair drive, buncha K's...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 It's as though he has no respect for Ron Hodges at all.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hey, on the plus side, the Met team ERA stays nice and slim!
