David Howard announced that the team would have historical bobble heads this year, one player for each decade starting with Seaver for the 1960s.

So, who are your guesses for the rest of the decades?

I'm guessing:

1970s: Koosman (but Willie Mays would be sweet!)
1980s: Strawberry (though Mookie, Hernandez or Gooden all would be fine choices.)
1990s: Piazza
2000s: Wright

I'd guess Piazza for the 00's. Wright isn't exactly historical. But he could be by the time the 00's bobble is made available. Tough decision for the '80's. I'd ordinarily go with Mex, but this year, I'd guess Kid.

Good thinking about Carter.
If not Piazza, then who for the 90s? Alfonzo, Franco, Leiter?

Good point about Wright -- Howard did say "alumni," of which Wright is not. Reyes might be by then.....

I can't believe I forgot about Carter, too. My bad.

Maybe Fonzie is in there somewhere?

I dunno. Piazza/Wright is a stronger combination than Piazza/any '90s Met. I guess that the three Mets you mentioned (Alfonzo, Leiter, Franco) are the likeliest of the 90's Mets to be given a historical bobble. Maybe Hundley. Personally, I'd like to see an Olerud bobble. Or an Anthony Young. But that's me.

They could do Piazza 90's/Jackie Robinson 00's. They probably wanna do that.

Even odds on whether the unis say Mets or Dodgers.

Is Leiter on good terms with the org?, Franco is back in the fold and he was there for the duration on that decade, it should be him.

They already did Leiter, Franco and Piazza if I'm not mistaken (and I prolly am)

My guesses will be
Kranepool 60s
Mazzilli 70s
Carter 80s
Alfonzo 90s
Wright 00s

Already announced that Seaver will represent the 1960s. Krane might be a good choice for the 1970s!

How about Rusty Staub for the 1970's?

Keith for the 80's. (This is the toughest call.)

It's also hard to decide which decade to put Piazza in. I'd probably have to go with the 00's, which leaves the 90's (an awful decade overall, until the very end) to Fonzie.

You could probably reasonably slide Seaver to '70s. But then Seaver wouldn't be first.

The kids love managers.

But with Tom assigned, I'd go...hmmm...

1970s: Tug
1980s: Kid
1990s: Mike
2000s: Jose

Though I still say one per year rather than one per decade.

Exactamundo. They could just shrink the statue they've got in the HoF-- perfect mold.

I like pairs. (Maybe "interacting" with interlocking bases?)

60s: Casey/Throneberry (if they're really going for the spirit of the thing)
70s: Seaver/M. Donald Grant
80s: Carter/Doc
90s: Valentine/Fonzie or Bonilla/Rickey (card-playing, natch)
00s: Beltran/Reyes (we're talking alumni, no?)

At the risk of my wife not talking to me for a month, I would totally buy this complete set.

Bonus points for the first Mets bobblehead that looks remotely like its subject.

I know you're talking about the 50thAnn. bobbles, but I nominate the Bob Murphy half of the Kiner/Murph bobble for these bonus points.

I believe that Murph already won the damn bonus points.

DeRoulet riding a jellybean-pooping Mettle might be more fun/useful.
