Apropos of Nothing but Mets

I always figured we could use a random thread for Mets related minutia. or baseball related anyway.

Did you know that The Sporting News picked the Mets to finish 2nd behind the Expos in 1993, with the one sentence justification of "Let's just pretend last year didn't happen" ?

They also have a photo of Gooden with the caption "This Dr. needs a prescription"

From 2001-2010, the Mets had the second-highest number of rainouts in MLB with 28, trailing only the Red Sox, who had 31.

By contrast, Florida had only 10. (MFY's had 24, if you must know.)

Because only so many ex-MLBers (a.k.a. legends) are participating with Pepsi. The only Mets are Piazza, Murray and Henderson.
