Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Bases jammed.against this Harang guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 So evidently it's Dickey's turn to put us in a big hole to dig out of in the late innings.Meanwhile on the bat front:- 1st inning, two on/none out- 2nd inning, three on/none outAnd the only batter who came up in those situations who even got the ball out of the infield was Dickey and his wasn't far enough to do anything about it.Wright = weak grounder which should have been a GiDPDuda - K lookingBay = weak grounderPagan = K lookingTurner = weak grounderNice showing guys.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 We're snuffing out potential comebacks with great regularity here.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Let's drive this former-Red-pitcher from the game and take a bite out of the pen.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Safe and secure at second. We need a knockout punch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 We made him throw enough pitches over the first 4 innings - just didn't do enough with them. Two potential Sac Flys and two hits w/RiSP produced a grand total of one run.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Too bad he is hurt but I'd like to see this guy in Pagan's place.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 3 RBIs by the 6th inning but none by anyone in the starting eight (Dickey, Evans, Pridie)That's got to be a fairly unusual occurrence.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Kinda wish we had pinch-hit for Dickey when we had the bases loaded. What an opportunity we had then. Then? NOW!! Two on and two out! Come on, Thole! Or Paulino! Or whoever!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 It's the 8th inning, let the magic commence.Leadoff 2B for Ruben.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I fucking told you! Willie Harris, RBI single.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Ok, I guess we just still it to Heath Bell again.l
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Once you ring a bell, it can't be unrung.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Anybody still think that Parnell is the Mets closer for '12? Another pathetic outing by Parnell. Good for Terry for leaving Parnell in. It's his mess. The offense got 'em within 2 but that's a distant memory thanks to a AAAA pitcher.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 So, I take it you're thinking Beato instead?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 MLB.tv didn't cut the sound out after the top of the 9th so we heard Keith ask: "are they going to bring in the big cheeseburger?"
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Still need one more before we get the trying run to the plate.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Error by Forsythe brings us Willie Harris as the tying run. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, I'd be tempted to PH Hairston to see if he can crack one out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Well, that sucked. Our inability to keep the Padres off the scoreboard this week has certainly made things difficult, as have some idiotic plays (Pagan's dumb throw, Tejada's failure to slide). Bottom line, Dickey and Parnell can't be giving up that much to the Padres.Great seats tonight too.
