IGT 7/6/2011: NYM @ LAD -- Niese In Our Time

10:10 EDT, 7:10 PDT, Jon Niese attempts to make it four Mets wins in a row versus Hiroki Kuroda, of whom any mention inevitably evokes for me ex-boxer Rookie Carroca from My Favorite Year.

One hopes Niese does not evoke images of the first inning of his last start versus the MFYs, and that the Met offense effects a TKO of Mr. Carroca...uh, Kuroda.

I'll repost my tweets from earlier, as they're applicable.

Niese, with a win, would tie Jason Isringhausen for 50th on the all-time Mets list with 19.

Beltran needs one sac-fly to tie Rusty Staub for 7th on the Mets list.

If Izzy blows Niese's win tonight, we'll know something's up.

Think they'll have me? I can sit next to the Mets dugout with two cups of coffee for most of the game..

I'm going to drink some beer tonight while watching in the hope that it will help me stay awake longer. That's my theory, anyway.

Guys?

Michelob Ultras. For once I bought beer, usually I'm more of a gin and tonic or vodka and 7 guy. Guys?

I'm not drinking tonight, although I did just fix my wine fridge, so the 4 bottles of beer (22ozers) i have in there will be cold tomorrow.

I dislike tonic. I'd rather a gin and gin. (or a Tom Collins)

guys?

Another double for Beltran, that would've been a Triple for him 2-3 years ago. You wouldn't take that from Reyes when his "speed goes"?

are you all asleep? old fogies..

Duda drives in Beltran, but a Kemp single and a Loney out creates a run to tie it.

btw, Reds blew an 8-0 lead with the final run in the 9th. Phillies lose because they suck. (I actually bet on the Marlins today. imagine that) stupid Braves won though.

Reyes' speed -- turning doubles into triples, singles into doubles, etc. -- mitigates his lack of power. Beltran still has plenty of power.

This asshole has money to gamble on craps and a white hot chick in a tight dress and he's still locked out of his room? I just want to punch him in his neck and take his hooker home with me.

Beltran leads off the 6th with his NL leading 26th double. Good for him, I'm enjoying his swan song season in a Mets uni.

I'll say it again: These Dodgers deserve to be down 3-0 in this series. They remind me of the '10 Mets, dumb plays, bad ideas, poor execution, shitty players.

Niese shaking his head and glaring at umps as he walks off the mound at the end of the inning.
That was a two-run mistake Blue.

Wow, what a bad fucking call. Larry Jones was right.

For those of us without visuals for the game, what happened?
