Jon Niese vs. another of those pitchers these Mets have not seen.

He could even go by one name.. UGALDO..

7-2 2.66 ERA 20-66 B/K

Agreed!

Look for us on the second level, in left field, just before the foul pole (still in foul territory) in the first row (unless we melt in the heat and retreat into one of the lounges).

The Mets at night
Were dull not bright
Deep in the Heart of Texas!

Now to shine in daytime...

Jose Reyes - SS
Willie Harris - DH
Carlos Beltran - RF
Daniel Murphy - 3B
Angel Pagan - CF
Lucas Duda - 1B
Josh Thole - C
Jason Pridie - LF
Ruben Tejada - 2B

Jonathon Niese - LHP

When Niese (here goes)
Leads by his nose
Deep in the Heart of Texas.

And Reyes races
'Round the bases
Deep in the Heart of Texas.

I'll bear the brunt
of Collins' bunt
Deep in the Heart of Texas.

I won't turn over in my grave
If K-Rod blows another save
Deep in the Heart of Texas.

But Jason Bay,
Oy Vey! Oy Bay!
I wish he were under
Flushing Bay.
Deep in the Heart of Texas.

Canadians don't play well in 98-degree heat.

Don't hit it either.

first two on, you kinda get the feeling that this game could hinge right here..will the Mets be the failure to hit with RISP and only stringing singles together, or can Beltran drive one and they cruise to an easy win?

Beltran drives one in the gap for a RF-assisted triple (he tried to slide to block it and booted it)

Murphy Sac Fly for 3-0.

leadoff hit for the Rangers. Jerry, errr.. Ron, has the 2 hitter bunt in the first.

Hamilton strikes out with blue eyes.

I hope he hangs around to serve up another Deux-da. He and Lucas, they work well together.

Washington played a ton of small-ball in the post-season last year too, so it's not like this is anything new.
I'd just like to personally thank him for continuing it today. Aside from a GiDP, nothing is better when you give up a leadoff hit right after taking a 3-run lead than knowing that their next batter is going to intentionally make an out.

Pat on the head for Beltre, who seems to be taking Edge's oblique insults to heart.

But playing "The Natural" theme for a home run that makes it 1-6? A bit grandiose, don'cha think?

What, no "Jurassic Park" theme for that flyout from Dave Murphy, stadium staff? Or some Elgar, maybe?

Something about Mark Grace's manner of speech makes me not want to show him any pictures of my daughter, or anyone else's.

Beltran's third hit of the day scores Reyes, making it 9.

C'mon, Ranger stadium crew-- where's the Sousa march?
