I am very encouraged by the big lug's game today. 4 hits, with 3 doubles, including one off a lefty.

This is almost Acosta-proof!

Nice to see Duda break out, and in a big way. Maybe this is what he needed to get going.

Talk to your fiance tomorrow.

Howie is remarking with astonishment that he saw a guy in the ballpark wearing a Kelvin Chapman jersey. Think that's one of our Chapmans?

Yup! It's Diamond Dad!

Getting a shout out in the booth.

tomorrow, just not 1-4.

Bay on the bench? Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed. Glad to see Duda get going, but after a 3 hit performance these pitchers may have been good for Bay to get going.

Mark Grace does not like "defensive indifference."

He does like having a few Mai Tais before a long commute, just to take the edge off the driving.

Twenty wives of 1969 Mets are in attendance this weekend? Wow!

Wonder if the first Mrs. McGraw showed up?

Our Canadian doesn't seem to play well in 75-degree heat or even 50-degrees and chilly. The rest of the Mets broke out their wjhoopin' sticks today. Glad for the win, but wish they could have spread the offensive onslaught over 2-3 games.

I don't know if there's anything to that blue-eyes-and-daylight thing, but as there's anudder day game tomorrow, I'm glad it's in Hamlton's head.

This was a really fun game to attend.

We started out on the Lexus level, which is kind of analogous to the Excelsior, except we were in the sunshine. After broiling for an inning, we went up to the equivalent of the Promenade.

As the shade increased and temperatures cooled down, we went back to the Lexus level, except instead of our original seats D-Dad decided to see if we could sit behind home plate. The ushers didn't care, so we settled into the first row behind home plate. That's where Howie noticed D-Dad's Chapman 10 jersey. During the 7th inning stretch he inquired about it, so I went up to the area in front of the booth and discussed it with him. The rest of the game we got a bunch of messages from friends who heard the shout-out on the air.

Between all of that and the 14-5 win, we had a great time :)
