I can't watch these Mets yearbooks without thinking that most of the people being interviewed are dead now. How macabre, I know.

Game on! Carrasco in for Gee, Christian Martinez for Hudson.

I'm still in but I'm fading fast.

Rain forecasted again within an hour.

Which might be for the best, considering the movement on Martinez' stuff in that last inning.

Bases loaded after two nice at-bats to work walks from Duda and Thole. Harris on to PH.

Come on, insure-runs!

Parnell is so happy that he has feeling back in his finger that he just gave the Braves one - 3 Ks.

EDIT: Make that 5 Ks in 2 IP.

K-Rod comes into a non-save situation and gets two quick outs in the 9th.

Why was the win awarded to Parnell over Carrasco?

Scorer whim, pretty much. (Perhaps the five Ks had something to do with it.)

Chicks dig the two-hit shutout. This chick does, anyhow.

Three-point-five out of second and three-point-five out of the wildcard.

Still a half game behind the Bucs, in sixth WC place.

So when the SP doesn't pitch at least 5 complete innings, the official scorer can decide who gets the win but cannot select the SP. "Change the rule!" (says Warner Wolf). If the SP doesn't pitch at least 5 complete innings but would have gotten the win if he did, then official scorer can select any of the pitchers, including the SP, to be credited with the win.

I'd consider changing it if there has been an official rain delay. After all, it wasn't really due to failure of ability or anything that caused him to come out.

I concur, Ceetar. Let's draw up the papers and make this happen. (I had that caveat in there but it got too wordy for a non-legal document.)
