Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Quit dicking around, fucko, get back in the box. Let's get these innings in and make this official please.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I hope we don't get fucked out of 4 good innings there.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I can't watch these Mets yearbooks without thinking that most of the people being interviewed are dead now. How macabre, I know.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Gee won't be back by the looks of that rain, that sucks for him but lets get the win.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I kinda miss the "view active topics" link.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Game on! Carrasco in for Gee, Christian Martinez for Hudson. I'm still in but I'm fading fast.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Rain forecasted again within an hour.Which might be for the best, considering the movement on Martinez' stuff in that last inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 NOW we're official so it can be a Rainy Night in Georgia all it wants.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Bases loaded after two nice at-bats to work walks from Duda and Thole. Harris on to PH. Come on, insure-runs!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Well, we got one additional run at least.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Couple of nice plays by Hinske. Let's see some outs from Parnell.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Parnell is so happy that he has feeling back in his finger that he just gave the Braves one - 3 Ks.EDIT: Make that 5 Ks in 2 IP.Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 That was quite the non-slide by Pagan..
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 K-Rod comes into a non-save situation and gets two quick outs in the 9th.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Why was the win awarded to Parnell over Carrasco?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 themetfairy wrote:Why was the win awarded to Parnell over Carrasco?Scorer whim, pretty much. (Perhaps the five Ks had something to do with it.)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Chicks dig the two-hit shutout. This chick does, anyhow.Three-point-five out of second and three-point-five out of the wildcard.Still a half game behind the Bucs, in sixth WC place.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 So when the SP doesn't pitch at least 5 complete innings, the official scorer can decide who gets the win but cannot select the SP. "Change the rule!" (says Warner Wolf). If the SP doesn't pitch at least 5 complete innings but would have gotten the win if he did, then official scorer can select any of the pitchers, including the SP, to be credited with the win.

After all, it wasn't really due to failure of ability or anything that caused him to come out.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I concur, Ceetar. Let's draw up the papers and make this happen. (I had that caveat in there but it got too wordy for a non-legal document.)
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
