The afternoon after the big Huey Lewis concert at PNC Park, let's see if the Mets can show some heart and soul.

Or will Chris Capuano be seeking a new drug?

Jose Reyes - SS
Justin Turner - 3B
Carlos Beltran - RF
Daniel Murphy - 1B
Angel Pagan - CF
Jason Bay - LF
Josh Thole - C
Ruben Tejada - 2B
Chris Capuano - LHP

Walking the Plank
Tabata 7
Diaz 9
McCutchen 8 (Not the pitcher)
Walker 4 (Don't walk him)
Overbay 3 (I'd play him over Bay too)
Wood 5 (Where's the hot girl for this thread?)
Cedeno 6
Brown 2 (Don't let him get his uniform dirty)
Correia 1 (too many vowels)

How about win one for Emma?

As per Gary, Tracksuit is quite the demonstrative Huey Lewis fan. (Well, either that, or he is highly suggestible around music he knows, and just can't shut up.)

Capuano works around a leadoff walk, thanks to a nicely-turned 5-4-3 inning-ender.

The O, meanwhile, is getting Emma Stoned by Correia through 4.

Bay breaks up the 'fecto-- what more appropriate Met (non-bullpen) is there to screw up perfection these days?-- but the Mets are still being stymied through 5 1/2.

So this is going to be an Ump Game.

Thanks, Jerry Layne.

Um... okay.

Pagan was out, for passing second, then not retouching the bag on the way back. (Replays inconclusive.)

Umm, Gary, it hit the wall. Maybe. But it is close enough to argue, unlike Garys proclamation that it was clearly a good catch.

Well, yeah... through the glove.

First replay sure looked like it hit the green above his glove.

What's the rule? He didn't touch the bag in either direction, and only 'half' passed it. he was basically straddling it.

I wondered the same thing. But once again Gary and Keith are proclaiming that he touched the bag. I didn't see that.

Harris to PH for Capuano. Can't be much better than CC has been his last three starts.

According to their argument, in this case, passed the bag equates to touched the bag. I'm not so sure that the rulebook agrees.

7.02 In advancing, a runner shall touch first, second, third and home base in order. If forced to return, he shall retouch all bases in reverse order, unless the ball is dead under any provision of Rule 5.09. In such cases, the runner may go directly to his original base.

It doesn't. To me, this means Pagan was safe (Because as far as I can tell he didn't touch it.)

Two-out runs against Correia, keyed by Willie Harris?

Is this a nap-dream?

Reyes in the middle gets a hit, so everything else appears normal.

And Correia gets Bi Bim Bopped post-departure those two runs, thanks in part to a nice slide from JTO.

That's what, like six straight 2-out hits now?
Dang, move just ONE of these RiSP hits to last night and we'd be 3/4 of the way towards sweepville by now.

This team is fun day in and day out. I don't even think about Wright, Ike or Johan much.

It's an alliance of the healthy.

NOW Scott ... Really?

The funny part is I switched for like 10 seconds in order to check on Liriano's no-hitter (he lost it on a leadoff single in the 8th) and missed the Hairston HR.

Ooooh, but back in time for Jose's 3rd.
