Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I can barely remember a time NOT seeing Braun hit a ball squarely. But, we got out of it and now Prince Spaghetti can't be the tying or winning run next inning.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Fasten your seatbelts.Fielder on second with nobody out in the 9th.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 How about taking two of three from one of the top three or four teams in the league? And the hottest team in the league? And the home-field-advantagiest team in the league?Yeah, I know it could've been a sweep, but stillage.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Angel gets a gift certificate for the Grand Central Oyster Bar for appearing with Ed.

All these silly gifts they get for things like that. You think Angel Pagan is actually hanging out in Grand Central? Probably hands it off to a friend right? Tips his driver with it?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Pat Zachry once told a story about trying to use the Getty gift certificate he got for appearing on Kiner's Korner and the gas station attendant looking at him like he was nuts.I'd keep Angel away from raw seafood. That's just me.

That's just me.We know Reyes never uses his!Honestly I wonder if they even get the certificates. It's really just a sponsor thing right? They probably mail a handful of them to WFAN to give out, and Francesa uses them.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think it does and I don't like it. Evans hasn't done much (neither has), but gives them more balance and versatility, especially with Bay sitting.I guess they're facing some righties in Pittsburgh and want to give Duda Bay's cuts.

They weren't really using Evans much. 17 PA, no hits, 5 walks. Personally I would've ditched Harris for Duda.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Fun game and a fun series. The Mets have won the last 4 games I've attended to see them play in person. I like Miller Park more and more each time I visit it.I didn't miss not seeing Bay in the lineup. It was really nice to see an offense without Wright and Davis score some runs against one of the better pitchers in the league in Gallardo. The Mets really impressed me this week.I think we saw the Brewers big weakness this series: facing left handed pitching. Capuano and Niese both chewed up a lineup where the only lefty hitter of merit is Fielder.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Very nice series to be at Monk , you saw some great baseball, and some bad of course, still had to be nice to see a Mets team this scrappy nearly take all three.
