I haven't started one of these all year. Let's see if I have a winning streak in me.

Today Dillon Gee, with a nice 5-0 record, faces off against Jair Jurrjens, with a much less impressive record of 7-1. (He lost a game! HAH!)

Thole and Tejada have more extra base hits in the last two weeks than Bay. They shouldn't be batting behind him, either.

"You know, when we talk about execution, I notice Bay hasn't been among those guys making boneheaded plays. You know, screwups on the basepaths and shit."

"Yeah, get back to me when he's on the basepaths and shit."

"He gets on! He's not getting any extra-base hits, but he's getting his walks, getting hit by pitches, giving his body up."

"How about giving his life up? Can he do that?"

"I understand the frustration, but the options are thin. If we're going to get on a roll, we need him to get right."

"Is the Beiruit option still open? Have we even talked with Beirut?"

Over the last two decades, Doug Sisk appears to have taken the lemons of Met fan disdain and made endless amounts of lemon meringue, lemon chicken, and lemon souffle.

Doug Sisk talking to Burkhardt, he asks him about getting recognized "still" , fucks sake Kev Sisk looks like the driver from Ice Road Truckers you eggit. Sisk scoffed at him and told him he hardly gets recognized as he's "plain" looking.

Guys?

This seems to have settled into one of those nothing's-going-on pitchers' duels.

Bay certainly complied , 0 for his last 15 and wasn't even close on whiffing right there.

Guys?

Look, there's Burkhardt again! Let's all
pile on unnecessarily! Oh, wait - he's doing an interesting an informative report that adds to my knowledge of the team and enjoyment of the broadcast.

Guys?

I like the guy plenty but since someone here pointed out that he always says Guys I laugh , seriously his Sisk interview was a riot.

KB might have the best job in the world for a Mets fan.

He does, and he seems to be a genuinely good guy.

You know, taking this park into consideration, if they have to choose between one or the other, Reyes just might be the better one to keep...

I was thinking the same thing.

OK Terry, I think this is over-managing.
Beato can pitch to the switch-hitting Chipper but can't face LHBs McCann and Hinske with a 5-run lead?!?

I gotta say, as overmatched as we are, and with as many bad breaks and bad losses as we've absorbed so far this year, I am enjoying the 2011 Mets as much as any Mets team since 05/06 (I kinda liked the 05ers).

When they took a cockpunch loss last year, I felt as if they got what they deserved by playing sloppy, passive, poorly piloted loserball. Whereas this team takes bad losses mostly because the other teams have more talent, and not as a result of anything more than that.. And they fight just as hard the next night.

Gee "four pitches and a lot of guts" said Bobby Ojeda in the postgame. I agree with that.

gotta agree , and to add to Ojeda Darling says of Gee that yeah he's a rookie but he knows how to pitch, he has a clue. This is an easy team to like really , we have a bunch of interchangeable players playing around the infield, Uggla got an XBH tonight down third that maybe Wright makes but it wasn't for a lack of effort that Turner didn't make it , same goes for Murphy, Tejada I'm loving .

Go Mets.
