Jason Bay with 3 hits: next rarest thing to a no-hitter

Oooh, Bay's got a ways to go to earn back Lunchy's respect.

That's not true, I never respected him.

I would bet a 5-spot on "Cole Kimball" being the character name for one of Bruce Willis' next three film roles.

Hairy pinchhits and retired on one pitch.

Not sure how I feel about the Hairston sub here. You want to downgrade your defense with a 1(-3, thinking optimistically)-run lead for a small platoon advantage?

That's exactly Hairston's role though. beat up on lefties, if he can't get it done..

I agree w/you LWFS. They have the lead, Hairston's not a good CF, Pride is, and it's not like Hairston's "raking" at the moment.

I'm looking to pick up 18 goose eggs. Anybody know where I can find them?

One game under .500 going into the Bronx isn't too shabby.

A nice series there and we can come out .500...or better.

Not as bad as the call against Reyes in DC.

Actually, worse.

The throw was a half-step late, and there was daylight between Murph's toe and the bag.

Still... I'll take it.

Look at he, it's Dillon Gee!
Oozing with com-pe-ten-cy!
Won't overwhelm
Still, he's sure at the helm,
Good show, our Dillon Gee!

A beautiful day at the ballpark... themetfairy, Fboy and I representing the CPF and soaking up some baseball.

I wasn't going to mention the no-no to Fboy until he got through six, so it's not on me that they didn't get it. And the Muffy play at 1B was a real gift there.

For what it's worth, the Mets are 5-0 in games attended by my son. Keep that in mind come postseason, kids...

Your first base umpire, by the way: Phil Cuzzi.
