Beltran absolutely.

I'd be unhappy if we accept another Jason Anderson kinda package but the MFYs are one of the few places these guys can go.

Joba straight up for whoever.......I can see Beltran over there and signing on for another three years.....why Pelf though.....not that I would appose trading him , sick of his shit already.

Who else needs a good outfielder ....Angels?, Tampa?....

I'd trade Bay to the Yankees before I'd trade Beltran. Sure, Bay's under contract for at least two more years, but that's the problem. That, and I'm confident that Beltran is better than Fernando Martinez right now.

We may well wind up loaded with pitchers in 2013, but parting with Pelfrey before then would do too much short-term harm I think. If he pitches well enough to bring back something valuable in the meantime, we'd be contenders with him.

Keep in mind that two wins against Florida would put us at .500 and within three games of the wild card, with a lot of baseball to play. I'd listen if somebody was desperate enough to ask about Bay or Rodriguez, because I think the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term risks, and because I think we could absorb the losses. Otherwise, I'm conceding nothing.

tigers need a good corner outfielder and a 3bman, but we won't go there...

If the Mets make a reasonable run at things this year, and a suitable trade partner doesn't emerge... what's the problem with considering a 1-2 year re-sign?

I'm down with that , unless Martinez emerges as a legit full-time player then who'd be out there and at what price?

I think it's likely a couple of bullpenners could/should go too this deadline; Izzy just might bring more back than Rodriguez given the $$, Buchholz stock gotta be way up too.

seems like anyone and everyone who's gotten to arbitration elligibility should be available.

Romine-- catching depth!-- and another prospect might do it for me, assuming they're eating cash.

Absolutely nothing. Of course, a 1-2 year signing isn't out of the question even if he is traded, as we know he can't be offered arbitration.

Yup. Oh, and I'd re-sign Reyes right away.
