Weather report sucks, looks like a rainout.

(EDITED game thread!)

Rained out.

Move the game over one day to the right--Thursday @ 3.

No day off for the Mets to frolic in Houston.

And so it is rained out, rescheduled for 3 pm Thursday.

I propose for the sake of Mojo we continue to utilize this thread.

Predicting a good game for Harris, adapting to his infield perspective and getting a message from smelling Martinez's farts.

Wouldn't Harris be in greater danger from Angel Pagan's return? There's zero reason to keep Harris over Pridie when Pagan returns.

Just crazy enough to work.

Weather and lunacy permitting, Willie H. in position to be Mets Third Baseman No. 144. The list's notoriety has kind of slacked off since July 21, 2004, for some strange reason.

143. Luis Hernandez
142. Mike Hessman
141. Justin Turner
140. Wilson Valdez
139. Andy Green
138. Fernando Tatis
137. David Newhan
136. Ruben Gotay
135. Damion Easley
134. Julio Franco
133. Eli Marrero
132. Jose Valentin
131. Miguel Cairo
130. Chris Woodward
129. David Wright

There are a lot of farts in the clubhouse which might give Willie pause.

Indeed. How many days off does David Wright really need? He got his day off yesterday.

Better chance of the latter, and I'll spot you seven home runs.

Game already delayed due to weather, with more bad shit forecast, raising the possibility that we'll have to fly out to Denver to determine [crossout:18p010dg]our[/crossout:18p010dg] their playoff seeding at the end of the year.

mutual off day on May 23rd I believe, Middle of a roadtrip for the Mets, where they fly from NY to Chicago. Probably not a horrible day, although the Sunday game is 8pm right? so it'd be a rough couple of days sleepwise.

Rockies fly home from Milwaukee on the 22nd, but they've got a Tuesday double header with the Diamondbacks. Might relish the off day?

8/25 is the best choice.
9/8 Mets enroute home from Miami which seems out of the way.

Those are the only three options besides them just conceding to save the trouble.

Ceetar--good work. May 22 is a day game. What's the rule about a team playing for consecutive games? Is it 15 is the most w/o approval of the union.

Besides the dates you have, each team is off on August 8.

I predict a lot of cardplaying today.

Charlie Samuels could have cashed a lot of checks today.

I skipped 8/8 because it's mid homestand for the Mets.

yeah, day game 5/22. my printout is a little old and I kinda assumed. neither Sunday Subway Series Stint is on eSpn. That'd probably be the day then, get it over with if they can. I dunno about the consecutive games though, that might be rough. (21 in 20 days for the Rockies starting tomorrow if they played that day)

Unless Colorado needs it there is little chance this will be made up.

If they don't play its' one more game Ike does not miss.

Revenue.

and if they make it up the 23rd Ike would still miss it.

There's certainly a fair shot that neither team needs it, but the worst case would be playing it 9/29 after the season.

Care to wager on that?

More than 19 consecutive dates requires player permission.

And unless all sides find the game virtually impossible to make-up it almost certainly will be at some point. Regardless of whether or not it matters in playoff implications or seeding, MLB doesn't like to give the impression that regular season games are simply disposable to the point where no attempt will be made even though there's still the better part of four months to go in the season.

If the challenge seems more problematic these days, it is. Because 56% of games are now played in cities where the visiting team won't be returning to the rest of the regular season.

Yup!
That's one of the side issues which cropped up after you go from most teams dividing their 162 over 11 opponents (pre-1993) to spreading them out over 20 different foes in the post-expansion, multi-divisions, inter-league playing days.

Imagine how it'd be if my proposal of interleague all the time got some love?

I know, I know, back to doubleheader sundays with more off days fixes everything.
