Charlie Samuels arrest imminent

Samuels banned from CitiField and the not-yet-named Gary Carter Baseball Complex at Port St. Lucie. Also ordered to give back "all" of the memorabilia to the team and pay them in $24,955.

I assume there's some sort of $25,000 restitution cap, but I also would guess that the damage he's done amount to a lot of eggs that can't be meaningfully unscrambled.

No jail time. His lawyer says he still maintains his innocence, but the no-jail-time plea offer was too good to turn down.

Sometimes, I wonder if you or your lawyer going to the media declaring your innocence immediately after you've pled guilty on the record should be regarded as a violation of the agreement and re-open the charges.

Forget anout reopening the charges. The "pled guilty on the record" part is more important. If he is saying that what he pled isn't true, he's guilty of perjury.

Samuels testifying under oath and Samuels' lawyer speaking to the media are two very different things.
