According to that "Total Zone Total Fielding Runs Above Average," Michael Bourn was the best outfielder in the National League, saving 23 runs above the league average.

The second best? Angel Pagan, at 21 runs. Victorino was 9th. Carlos Gonzalez was 117th (!), at 2 runs BELOW average.

As for the other NL positions:
Arroyo and Molina were tops at their respective positions. Adrian Gonzalez, Chase Utley and Chase Headley have some legit gripes.

BIS Defensive Runs Saved Above Average favors Ike (then Aubrey Huff, then Berkman).

Someone on ESPN remarked that it was too bad that Davis and Pagan didn't get more love. He posited that it was mostly because of the fact that they were Mets, which I take to mean either that other managers really don't like us, or this team was too forgettable overall. Either way... ugh.

Rob Neyer, as noted in the other thread.

The Mets are fashionable to hate, even among their supporters.

I don't think Neyer is talking about anti-Met bias per se. More likely he's:
a) being a bit snarky/sarcastic with that comment
and
B) saying that the coaches who vote on this stuff rarely put a lot of time into it so one way to short-cut things is to only concentrate on those guys from winning teams

The votes for GG are never released, but, if they were, it wouldn't surprise me to see the good fielder/bad team types who fans and analysts think were snubbed not be anywhere near the top.
Throw that attitude on top of the ones where legacy and hitting are factored in and the whole thing is a real mess.
