Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Want to know who "the machine" is?WilsonThe real question: is Wilson's friend a machine... or is he a "Bat"man?(This is a FAR more interesting World Series just for his being involved.)

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Tom and Nancy Seaver, making like Journey and going separate ways...in terms of whom they're rooting for in this World Series and where they're watching it. Only Marty Noble...

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Great MLB.com headline from last night:Ten-gallon splat: SF knocks Texas off a Cliff
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Game 2: Cain vs Abel (or maybe Wilson)Vlad and tubby Molina not in the lineup for TexasMurphy in for Vlad, Treanor in for MolinaWashington refuses to say that Vlad sitting is on account of the defense last night ... but it sounds like it's about the defense last night.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Game looks good through two innings...and first feed linked to. I swear I'm living in the age of pirate radio stations.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 ...and there it goes. Trying feed No. 2.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Feed No. 3 brings Matt Cain's base hit to light. He's still a dick for tipping his cap at Citi Field.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 But that's part of the thrill, isn't it?C. J. Wilson desperately needs to trim those sideburns-- it's like a toddler smeared chocolate on his cheekbone.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 These don't exactly qualify as scoring threats, do they? ("Vague scoring gestures?")
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Todd Zeile redux there with Kinsler's ball hitting directly on top of the wall and then coming back into play.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 About his "leadoff hitter should filibuster so the pitcher has more time to get ready" stuff..is it really necessary? The next inning doesn't start until the pitcher is ready, walks out there, and throws 8 pitches anyway. Not like the ump is gonna yank the guy out of the dugout while he's putting his helmet away or anything.

Only Marty Noble...Dick Young is preparing an article for tomorrow's paper where he claims to have insider info that Nancy is only rooting for the Giants because she hates Ruth Ryan.

Thanks for the link."The worst thing about this World Series is that with the outstanding ability of the Giants and Rangers to hit, run, and field, and with no real asshole to root against, it just feels like a celebration of baseball," Paul Rockwell of Uniontown, PA told reporters. "And that sucks. Do you know why that sucks? Because I'm a horrible, shallow person, and while I like to think of myself as a fan, I only get off on storylines and personalities completely unrelated to the game itself."
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Isn't Jeter getting married soon? I'm surprised they haven't managed to bring that up a lot.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 The worst thing about this world series is that I will not see one inning of it.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Matt Cain is bucking to tie a scoreless-innings streak... held by Christy Mathewson.I think my brain just melted.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Like I always say, Suzyn, you just can't figure out baseball!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Frenchy's gonna get up in the pen.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Well, when you hire Frank Zappa as your pitching coach, you're going to get some uneven performances. (Even if some of them are groundbreaking.)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 ...and that's what happens when you wait too long to use Frenchy.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Matt Cain looks like Andy Messersmith, I think.
