No doubt LWFS, he seems a lot more comfortable with basketball. Maybe it's that he only calls baseball once a year but on that single to left field that the pinch runner went form first to third he screamed like it was a walk off.

Yeah, Ernie went a little Gus there.

The real cold cup of coffee from this series has been how "bleh" Ronnie is when out of the SNY booth. Seriously goofy analysis in spots, and the TBS sound design makes him sound uncomfortably like James Woods.

What the fuck do they have this video review rule for if not to review balls on which MFY assholes extend their hands into the airspace of an opposing fielder going after a ball while in descent? Fucking asshole, chickenshit, MFY-loving umpires. The fucking fix is in as usual. Presumably Lee will be assigned to the MFYs by Game Six.

Motherfucking bullshit. Per fucking usual.

I'm awful glad I missed that.

Note the fundraising wristband. What's the cause -- Dickstrong?

The wristband gives him admission to the asshole only section. Oh wait, that's EVERY section.

Surprised they're not wearing them in the home dugout.

As soon as Darling said, with a two-strike count, that Rangers have MFY pitchers where they want them because of good 2-strike hit streak, it was obvious there'd be a strikeout.

Steve Albert pulled that same nonsense thirty years ago and I'm still steamed about it.

Darling's explanation of why they didn't go to the film was unsatisfying also.
They're showing a graphic that says replay is usable for fan interference calls but then Ronnie is saying that they can't because, in the judgement of the RF ump, the ball was over the fence. But two minutes later the same ump judged that Berkman's ball was fair and that got reversed.

I'm not sure that the Cano one would have been overturned anyway, but I don't understand why they didn't at look give it a look.

Whoda thought that Angel Hernandez would be on the field and the talk is about a different umpire ... although there have been some odd ball/strike calls.

If the Cano ball bounces off the top of the fence (on the yellow line) and bounces back into play, is that HR? Ball off the wall in 1973 wasn't. If not interfered with, it's conceivable it bounces back.

Either way, take a look.

These folks ought to be glad they don't live in Saudi Arabia.

Not a DP. But damn! Way to mitigate a bad situation.

I knew of Andrus from fantasy research and the occasional highlight. But damn, does he play a sassy little short. (Nice job by Young to see what he was doing and get back to the bag.)

Go back to rehab, Hamilton. You're worthless.

The Yankees learn that fan interference works both ways.

And yet, they escape.

How hard is it to think, "My hands are not part of the game?" Worked for Daniel Murphy when he was last seen loitering near the left field stands.

Perhaps it's the sitcom thread's influence, but that sounds like a catchphrase from Webster or some such ABC effort.

Teixeira's injury looks like one of those 'out for the duration' kind of deal.

I wish him no physical pain.

Smoltz immediately gave him the "he never takes off a play, always hustles no matter his batting average" kissoff. Sounded a lot like what was said of Jason Bay nearly every day for three months.
