Tough loss in the nightcap, to be sure, but coming away with a split in a doubleheader like this isn't the worst thing in the...WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS WAS ALL ONE GAME? FUCK!

Go get an oxycontin addiction, Hamilton, you fucking loser.

Y'know what (else) sucks about this? If the Mets had done what the MFYs just did, it would go down as one of the greatest victories the franchise had ever known. They'd be carving space for another plaque on the Citi Field Fanwalk to commemorate it. But in MFY lore, this will just be tossed on the pile with the rest of them, probably exceeded by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

How I hat them.

Why, if the Mets were to pull this game out, like the MFYs just did, that game might even get more airplay than the Matt Franco pinch hit single game (which we'll always have).

I had no idea how much I hated Brett Gardner until now.

He was seen before the game reading an advance copy of Ian O'Connor's ode to Americana "The Captain". Of course he dived.

I didn't stay up to watch. Sadly, at 5-0 I thought it was 50-50 the yanks would win.

I've seen this script too often. I'm out.

I'll watch the NLCS.

Oh, like that's going to turn out any better....

The Rangers downfall was George Bush holding up that sign declaring victory in the 7th inning.

BTW- As of this morning, I no longer have Fox, CH-5 NY, on my Charter Cable system. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

That was great!

All right people, buck up now. It's just one game. The Yankees have won as many as three games to start a series and still failed to win the series. Besides, this was the game the Yankees were supposed to win with "greatest pitcher in the world" C.C. on the mound. So the Rangers have learned that C.C. is human and they've tired out the Yankees bullpen. Granted the Rangers bullpen was well-used to but they've got better starters coming up. I have cahnfidence that evil will not be allowed to triumph. Go Rangers!

Same thing here with Cablevision. The longer the MFY's go the better it could get.

Now THAT'S a photo-shop waiting to happen.

Meanwhile, it's time for Game 2.
Yanx swapped around Pettitte & Phil Hughes so that Hughes is going in Game 2 (they like Pettitte at home better). Hughes pitched just one inning of scoreless relief vs Rangers this season.
He'll face 31 y/o Colby Lewis: 12-13; 3.72 ERA, 1.19 WHiP Did not face the Yanx this year.

Clever ways to blow burgeoning leads being concocted in the Ranger dugout as we speak.

Score early and go into shutdown mentality. You did your part, and if it doesn't work out, its the bullpen that gets the heat.

Francoeur has brought the magic formula with him from Queens.

Rangers head to bottom of third with three-run lead. The pressure mounts on the Rangers.

They'll fuck it up. Just watch.

I mean, they already fucked this whole series up for themselves.

Bunting with a runner on 2nd and 3-run lead with Ian Kinsler up? .... Really Ron Washington?

That Smoltz (and to a lesser extent Darling) praised the idea isn't helping.

And now Washington is proven correct as the following double gets the runner in. No way Cruz could have scored from 2nd on a 2-bagger.

And now Texas pouring on the hits which means the only thing the bunt got them was one fewer out to work with going forward.

The preceding rants were brought to you from the BiFL Society and they approved this message.

5-0

Same fucking score as last night.

Fuckers....

And now 5-1, same fucking score as last night ... only earlier.

Fortunately Lance Berkman has always been a bit of a pinhead when it comes to baserunning.
A Houston board I know nicknamed him 'Fat Elvis'

I've been listening to John Sterling for 20 seconds and I'm already feeling violent.
