Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 speaking of which, I appear to have an extra (free) ticket to tonight's game if someone's interested..

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) If you want to win now, you maybe play the hot hand in Carter. If you want to see what you've got, you maybe send Feliciano and/or Hessman back down, and bring up Lutz.If you're Jerry, you play Frenchy and chuckle.OE: Meant "Duda," not "Lutz." Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 As for lineup construction.. I've really been thinking the Mets should explore having someone that gets on base batting in front of Reyes, whether that's 9th or 1st. He's been the best hitter for a while now, and he has two automatic outs in front of him. Wouldn't Castillo 9th score some more runs?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Frenchy and Tejada, poor Dickey.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I wondered if perhaps, Fracnoeur has his well against Josh Johnson in the past. Nope.Frenchy vs. Josh: .269/.286/.269 0 HR's, 8 K's in 26 AB's.

And since it's assumed Manuel thinks he's a good player normally..My guess is he's predicting a 2-1 game and wants the defense.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I've been away. I see that Tejada is still grabbing PT.And Francoeur. Mercy.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 These two-out, nobody-on issues Johnson's having have to be frustrating for those 15 or so diehard Marlin fans.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 One thing I'd like to see HoJo teach Wright is to spin around before his throws on those plays where he cuts the ball off in front of the shortstop and is facing right center.Wow, bad defense by the Marlins. Year after year.GO
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Yea Maybin. You dive for the ones you don't have to dive for and you let the ones you should get to routinely go by.You keep doing that.Beltran comes through!
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 3-2 Mets in the 5th.Let it rain!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I'm just asking for consistency Maybin. You have no business playing that Wright single nicely.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Jabs, jabs, jabs have gotten the Mets a lead.A left hook, though, would be nice here.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Ike's looking a bit like a tall, white Castillo the last few weeks.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 There's been some bad calls against Ike off the outside corner. But he's got to protect against that.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I kind of want to send Wright there. He's pretty much doomed, but with Tejada and Dickey coming up, I think you force them to make the throw and tag.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Walking Tejada with two out? Really?(And yeah, I would have sent Mr. Rye, too.)

He has some good reach. Can't go by the umps.Frenchy with 2 sac flies. That first sac fly was a very nice at-bat.Tejada with a nice diving catch (not sure if that was an important factor being late in, but it is here on the MLB.TV replay. Very nice grab). So what do we know?Baseball is so wacky.Man, Dickeys balls are moving tonight.
