All they do is bitch and moan about everything, all of them, theyre little bitches, all of em. I really hate the Cardinals. Compared to the Cardinals, I love the Chicago Cubs. Let me make this clear: I hate the Cardinals. That's the full quote which you probably won't get on BB2N or on your late local news. For some reason the Cards took offense to that which started a mini-brawl in the bottom of the first before the first Cincy batter - not coincidently Brandon Phillips - even got a pitch.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Handbags at 10 paces as Irish says. What do you suppose Yadier said, "You don't like us, Brandon?! Well, heck, we're super nice!"Yeah, I'll show you whose nice! Why I oughta!

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 In other news, the MFYs lost in Texas last night after Mariano in the 10th inning went: single/single/force-play/intentional walk/single.

He makes sure to give away games earlier in the week so he can get his closer work so that when he decides to call on him he's prepared. Girardi only let Mariano throw a handful of pitches in a week!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I thought Ron last night in talking about Phillips perhaps shed some light on him , saying that basically Phillips is a great talent with a very big mouth. I'm guessing that must be the take on him around the game. And yeah the melee was a classic handbags case, lots of arms stretched head back type of "hitting" going on.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 The Reds don't need that kind of headache if they're in a playoff run. Omar, get whoever the Reds GM is these days and give them Castillo and Francoeur for Phillips and the cremated remains of Schottzie.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 You're advocating a lot of strange trades this morn.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Phillips is just one of those guys liable to say anything without thinking too much about what might happen. It's obvious how he tried his regular approach at the plate that he seemed oblivious to the possibility that the anyone might take any offense.By the way, the Whiny Bitches won and tied the Reds for first place, beating Johnny Cueto who was pinned to the wall and kicking away in that dustup. Apparently there's also been bad blood between LaRussa and Dusty Baker going back to Dusty's playing career when he finished up under LaRussa. They later were managing rivals in SF and Oakland.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Fine, we'll throw in Ollie and they can include Brandon Arroyo.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 PUT HIM IN A BODY BAG, JOHNNY! YEAH!"All I know is we exchanged words and the next thing I know I was in the net with somebody kicking me in the back from behind," Chris Carpenter said. "I wasn't throwing any punches, nobody was throwing any punches, and then we've got some guy kicking me in the back and ends up kicking my backup catcher in the face and splitting his face open. The Cardinals said LaRue may have a concussion."He could have done some real damage (on LaRue), he got him in the side of his eye, he got him in his nose, he got him in his face. Totally unprofessional. Unbelievable. I've never seen anything like that. He got kicked square in the side of the face with spikes. C'mon, give me a break."
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Cards are winning again today, 6-0 in the 7th.If i was LaRussa, instead of starting Wainright today, I start Blake Hawksworth, and tell him to put the first pitch of the game directly into Phillips' ear. then, when LaRussa and Hawksworth are thrown out, Wainwright comes in to "relieve', and Tony the tiger manages from the lockerroom. And i keep doing that every game against the Reds. I'd happily pay the fines.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 How could anyone root for the Cardinals here? Yadier Molina is as guilty of starting this thing up as anyone and he deserves a beating on general principles. And Cueto was shoved into a corner, I don't know if he had much choice but to shoot the le..., I mean face.No matter how this race turns out, it'll all be attributed to this brawl.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Well, I've always hated the Cardinals back from the days when they were in the NL East. But, 2006 brought on a whole new group to hate. And not just for Molina's HR or Wainwright's curve.Pujols claimed that Glavine's 2006 NLCS Game One performance (7 IP, 4 H, 0 R...including a strikeout, a walk and a lineout to Pujols) "wasn't all that good".Also, their .If this race goes down to the wire, I'll root hard for the Reds. The Cardinals are little bitches that I hate, too.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 As much as i hate the cards (since `85), i also hold a grudge against the Reds since the Harrelson / Rose fight in 73. So i have no horse in this race. But i hate mouthy primadonnas who think their words should have no consequences. Stick it in his ear, Tony.
