Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Biggest game of the year.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Are these the ones Ben Grimm used in the Bras N Panties match from the WWE thread?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I may have to give that thread a careful reread.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Biggest game of Pelfrey's career , no pressure then.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I may have to give that thread a careful reread.[/quote:1vk8eet0]Obviously the only way we'll ever know whether this thread really matters is if we square off Yancy vs. Piazza 411 in a Bra and Panties Match.[/quote:1vk8eet0]
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Are those edible? Okay, I'm gonna make a prediction. Now, stick with me, and don't get mad. Hear me out.I've been hoping to predict a certain event for a while now.I give up on that, but I have to try the ol' switcheroo.I predict Pelfrey will give up 14 hits tonight.Scattered hits....really, really scattered, cause we are gonna win.Winning, however, is not my prediction. That's just a foreknown fact.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) Given the pitching matchup, this feels more downshift-worthy.Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Howlin' Rose. metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Umm, LennonManuel reiterates will not move Beltran out of CF this season, but "possibly" could look to do it at start of next year. #mets
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Oh crap, Pelfrey is pitching in the first inning. Crap.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 3 hits in the 1st.Well, with 14 hits, it not like they weren't gonna score. We just have to score more.Let's answer right back guys.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Pelfrey's giving Ollie a run for his oh no money. Maybe Ollie could "mop up" by starting Pelfrey's turns and Pelf could come in in the second.Sure it sounds crazy...But what about this dopey theory I'll happily espouse: Pelfrey began to be less wonderful right about the time Manuel told Pelf's BFF Maine that he was completely dispensable to the team. Right around when I noticed Pelf had a new bench buddy in Dickey, I was impressed how he adapted to the realities of the business. But I wonder if there was something to the Pelfrey-Maine relationship that made Pelf a good pitcher. Then again, Maine had his best season when Guillermo Mota shared a clubhouse with him, so I'm talking out my hat.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 And they do answer right back. And with two outs to boot.Nice.Thole does what a slap hitter do.Frenchy ...wait for it....took a WALK!Castillo gets all the way on the other side of my shit list as he drives in Thole with a single to center.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 If it's a nice hat that's okay.[/quote:3qc37u0a]Loveliest thought today.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Yea Pelf!I don't care where you get em.Get em at the plate, get em first.Got him!nice.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 That Pelfrey has given up 5 hits while retiring only 4 batter so far is certainly disturbing. The GiDP & pickoff have bailed him out.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Love tap! Baby, bat slap!Love tap! Baby, bat slap!Hop on my Reyes, he's as thin as a rail, and he's about to shake tail! (Wooo!)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Well, that was an appetizing fastball. It would have been rude, really, for Larry to NOT hit that out, no?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 McCann's no Philistine, either.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 K of NotYunelEscobar ends the 4th, with Pelf looking strong. Apart from getting tagged for the aforementioned shit-ton of hits and back-to-back satellite shots, he's pitching well.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Well, nice, we got their starter out.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 If Medlen was pitching hurt, maybe Pelf should come down with what he's got.
