Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Tying run's on deck.IOW, it's K-Rod time!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 I've known games that didn't take as long as that inning.I kid!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Uh oh, anti-Met Willie Harris enters the game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Wayne Hagin announce that Lenny Harris was coming in.Willie, meanwhlie, did a good job cutting off Tatis' hit into the gap.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 What can be better than 4-hour game on a 90+ DC day in July? ... one that you lose I guess.Still pissed off that we need this one just for a series split.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 POP QUIZ: These pitching/pinch-hit-for-pinch-hitter changes are being made because:A) Tyler Clippard has great career numbers against David Wright Fernando Tatis owns Sean BurnettC) Both managers have a one-dollar bet ("Looking good, Jerry!" "Feeling good, Jim!") on how many game attendees they can get to be treated for heatstroke by Nationals Park EMS workersD) They are just plain fucking with us
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 A great question, LWFS. That's 3 days in a row we've had to watch this nonsense. Each time, Riggelman lost a reliever and Jerry lost a PH and the result was still a lefty/righty--righty/lefty matchup. Riggleman had to have known what Jerry would do (since they both micro-manage) so unless he wanted to take out his reliever, it was a pointless attempt to get a better matchup.
Guest Number 6 Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 A 6 run lead is still not enough to trust our non-Pedro and non-Elmer relievers, I guess.
Guest Number 6 Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Guess we can't trust our Pedro relievers, either.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Howie with a good point: Jerry used Feliciano again. Meanwhile, Nieve hasn't pitched in a week. If you can't trust him with a 6 run lead, then why is he on the team?

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 What's the consensus? Is this lead safe?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Jerry just issued a press release. Parnell, who was unworthy of the big leagues for the first half to the season, will henceforth pitch every game this season.Lead?Safe?No.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Rodriguez is the last avaliable pitcher.

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 This is almost comical ... here's Frankie!
Guest Number 6 Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 This bullpen doesn't have the personnel to be as horribly mismanaged as it is.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Too believeable where I come from.Elmer Dessens has started 140 games in his career. You couldn't go for two innings from him?
