Why am I going to Baltimore but only going to the Sunday game? hmm...I know, I'll just go to a bar. They'll tune to it for me.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 In support of Hisanori Takahashi:Jose Reyes - SSAngel Pagan - CFDavid Wright - DHIke Davis - 1BJason Bay - LFFernando Tatis - 3BRod Barajas - CJeff Francoeur - RFRuben Tejada - 2B
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 David Wright - DH[/quote:3glqxpim]Called it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I don't have a problem with that move. He's been playing a good 3B lately but Tatis has had fewer ABs than anyone who's been on the team the whole season and you need to keep guys like that in use if you expect them to be the best RH bat off the bench. Matusz is a highly touted prospect for the O's and, although he's had a tough time getting going so far, this is still the worst pitching match-up for us of the three games.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Looks like Takahashi is being figured out the first time thru the lineup this time. ><Two bird doubles in the 1st makes it 1-1, Mets.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Reyes 2 fer 2 now (single) but gets picked off first in the 3rd.Comeonnn guy!A base is a terrible thing to waste.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 The game is just sliding along....
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 i thought wright was out at 1st there, but i'll take the safe call and the run.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Just about everyone in the park screwed up this half-inning- Jerry shouldn't have had Reyes bunting- Tejeda should have scored on Pagan's single- Wright hits into a perfect DP ball on the first pitch- but then Lugo screws up the relay and the Mets score anywayJust when you think there's nothing left to screw up, there's always Julio Lugo in reserve

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Turned this on as Reyes was getting picked off. C'mon, man ... breakfor second and make them throw the ball at least instead of standing therelooking dumb. Little things like that aggravate me.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Ruben Tejada with a nice defensive play going far to his right and making the spin/throw. I don't want Castillo back.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 It was BAD station to station baseball. We only scored because they screwed up last.

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Almost another for Reyes. Nice cushion.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Slappy was only hitting .241/.347/.277 himself, so i'll take my chances that Tejada can at least get to that level while providing better defense.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Is Francoeur hearing the footsteps [jogging, not yet allowed to be running] of Carlos Beltran and trying NOT to be supplanted by Pagan when Beltran gets back? competition based on superior merit rather than who stinks less would be nice around here!Well, right now he's about .080/.120 points below those first twoand he has 2 XBHs to Castillo's 3 despit the AB differential of 6-1
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Guys, I need all eyes on a missing dog.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 and he has 2 XBHs to Castillo's 3 despit the AB differential of 6-1I'll try to contain my excitement.Look, if he takes this opportunity and runs with it nobody will be happier than me. But he's 20 y/o, has never been considered a 'can't miss' type of prospect, and is only up now because of an injury. Let him play everyday in the minors and hope he can take a job - either Castillo's or Cora's - next spring.and btw, just tonight he's both screwed up a running play and K'd on a ball that bounced about a foot in front of the plate
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 How can Gary watch Takahashi check out with that line and say "A lot of people think, this guy included, that his true value is out of the bullpen"?
