Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 OK, maybe NOW we need some Michigan mojo. After that 18-run disaster on Monday, we wonder if things are going to get better. We, in Michigan, are used to asking this question. We have:The worst football team ever. The nation's worst unemployment rate. The city with the worst mayor/inmate.This talentless goofball running around reminding people where he is from. But still, we hold our heads high. Because as bad as it is, we know things will be better. And tonight, the Mets have Mike Pelfrey on the hill, and he is NOT going to give up a grand slam or walk in two runs. So, with the spirit of the adopted state of Michigan, we boldly say LET'S GO METS!And please buy a nice American car. And, because Zvon asked, here's my cool cake! And it was as sweet as the game that Pelf is going to drop on the hapless Pads tonight!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 It's a new month. Let the Mets make it a June to remember.

T'was good, though? Thanks for the optimism, DM.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 It was! I was really reluctant to cut it, because it looked so good. But it tasted great, too.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Is Michigan still in a depression? Just kidding

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 If Castillo was a horse he'd be sent off to the glue factory.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I like Pagan/Barajas/Frenchy at the ass end of the lineup, got some pop there.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 THAT'S MY BOY!! THAT'S MY BOY!!Fuck you, Optimum.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 So that's two outs on the bases, out of the first five. Fuck.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Still looks like a mismatch for the good guys.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 A 5-pitch bottom of the third for Pelfrey, including a strikeout. That's efficient!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 We vie to win the basestealing championship.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 3rd baserunner erased tonight. We're doing this LeBlanc guy some big favors.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Can we just post to get Kid Rock off the current page of the thread?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Pelf with a pickoff of his own. Very nice.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Suddenly, baserunning outs as far as the eye can see.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Were those all first-pitch hits for Wright tonight?I know at least two of them were, plus at least one of his last night.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Howie and Wayne, shut up about Ollie.[/quote:28irucbp]First game I've listened to down here on a Mets radio feed this season. Been kind of a painful broadcast, between that and the Brad Garrett commericals./slide whistle/cuckoo noises
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Pads get one across. Let's hope the Mets can get some cushion for Pelf!
