G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 There is much talent to consider from across, how do you say, 41+ seasons National League East right handed starting pitching. Why don't we treat ourselves to three righties?*PLEASE NOTE ALPHABETICAL ORDER IS A BIT ASKEW, SO READ AND VOTE CAREFULLY*
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Seaver and Maddux would have been my two if we went with only 2 in this poll, and i didnt even have to think about it much. the third guy took a bit, but i went with Smoltz.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I voted Seaver, Maddux, and Smoltz. (I really wanted to vote for Gooden, but Smoltz got it done for a longer period. A much longer period.)If we weren't limited to divisional play, I would have voted for Bob Gibson.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 What Ben said, with an added nod to Fergie Jenkins.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Went with Seaver, Maddox, and Smoltz. This is the most stacked field in this entire polling process. When Gibson, Gooden, and Jenkins are left on the sidelines it shows how great the quality of right handed starting pitchers has been throughout the history of the NL East.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Not to mention guys like Sutcliffe, Drabek, Cone, Schilling, and Montreal/Mets-era Pedro (who was good-to-great-- with his last year in Montreal beginning his historic spell of dominance-- for 6 of his 8 years in the division).
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I'm sticking with oneSo am I!unintentionally Maybe you should make it RHP's for us brain impaired.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 If I wanted one pitcher, to win one game, I voted Gibson.Later
