TRIPLE PLAY!!!

terrible job by the umps not making a more emphatic call, the baserunners had no idea what was up there.

missed it live, saw the replays but I'm not understanding how that triple play occured. When Pagan threw the ball in to the infield the players at second and first were on the bases.

those runners were the batter (at 1st) and the runner on 1st (at 2nd)

sac fly with bases loaded for francoeur, Tatis needs to do something here so we dont come away with just one run

I missed an inside the park HR too? I need to pay more attention.

And I decided to stay home.

Of course I would have blown my voice out screaming, "Hey, Jerry, you went to the pen too early!" and "Pinch-hitting for a pitcher who is pitching well only to bunt is unforgiveable!"

But that would wreck my karaoke career.

Here we go again. On the road, waste a leadoff single, pinch hit a guy and ask him to make an out on purpose, setting up a struggling guy and one after him that even with a hit might not score the guy from 2nd, get your bullpen working as if this all came as a shock to you, then call on the guy who's been in 70% of all your games to get two outs with a guy on third.

The Jerry Plan.

Good on Jerry for sniffing out the squeeze though.

PEREZ warming in the pen, is Jerry throwing in the towel in a tie game?

So the pitch out wasn't pitched out enough and the run
eventually scores.

If that's that, how many more ways can they find to lose?

Are the pages here longer now? Used to be the 40th post would
have started page three.

They pretty much lose the same way every night. They make too many outs on purpose, and ask too much of the bullpen.

a walk and a liner right at Castillo to start Perez's relief career.

I hate every jerkweed on the street thinking he can run a team. Every other manager --- Randolph and Howe included --- I've been certain had a few things figured out that I have no clue about.

Jerry, though... baby.....

An inside the park homer and
a triple play in the same game?

..isn't that special.

I meant (if they lost that way) it was because it was a pitch
out that should have been thrown another foot outside and that
was kinda a 'new' way in last couple of seasons of losing is all.

I just checked under the hood, and somebody had set it at 30. I set it back to 20, but we still don't have a page three.

I just can't crack down on Omar as much as Jerry. Omar gift-wrapped him a pitcher capable of winning the game and Jerry insisted on giving the game away.

Ka-suck that, Capps.

Oh c'mon. Jerry didn't do any of this crap in 2008. Willie Small Balls did it throughout his entire tenure, but had Beltran and Delgado and Wright and Reyes playing like MVP's to cover his dumb sorry ass.

OE: If Willie Randolph had this team, the Mets would be 10 games out.

O Double E: Jerry's got no Delgado, no Beltran, Reyes sucks this year and Citi Field Wright ain't no Shea Stadium Wright.

David Wright should have been up with two out in the ninth, not Barajas.

Come on and what?

And Jason Bay, who as of the end of last season was one of baseball's 10 best home run hitters by any reasonably intelligent measure, is on pace to hit less than five homers in 2010. Willie never had it so bad.

And at least some of that has to be on him. I think more than a bit.

It's already been demonstrated that --- despite you're insistence to the contrarary --- we're bunting more than Willie's Mets ever did. I think that speaks of the manager's failures more than the players'.

Sorry, nothing personal, but I think he's been highly counterproductive for the team, and an inability to learn from Randolph's mistakes is as frustrating as the inability to learn from his own.

I'm not defending Jerry's bunting. You're preaching to the choir if you're critical of this season's sac bunt tendencies.
