Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I dreamed last night I was missing a Mets game and looked up to see the score was 8-3 in favor of the Cubs in the 5th inning. I then slid into one of weird half-sleep states where you can think rationally while still dreaming and realized it was Santana's turn in the rotation.I dunno guys.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 You had a premonition?!You need to put $$ down...NOW!!!

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Thunder and lightning in the area. Somebody Up There doesn't like Pagan batting eighth.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 What about the Cubs moving Zambrano to the pen, stunning move I think.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Used to be a pretty standard move for an excellent pitcher who was struggling. I support it.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I wonder if perhaps Piniella remembered Guidry stepping into close when Gossage went out with a Cliff Johnson-broken thumb. Surely all the Ron Davis talk in the air is taking him back to those halcyon days.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Used to be a pretty standard move for an excellent pitcher who was struggling. I support it.[/quote:nd4kamq9]And that may be the real reason, but that doesn't seem to be how the Cubs are spinning it. They're saying that Zambrano is needed in the bullpen, not that he's, for now at least, not pitching well enough to stay in the rotation. And it sounds like Zambrano is buying it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Yeah, this is more about the state of their pen then about Zambrano. With Ted Lilly is due back they, theoretically at least, have one too many arms in the rotation and are begging in the pen.Aside from his horrible opening day start, big Z hasn't been all that bad.
Guest Number 6 Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I feel like we're going to score some runs tonight.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Taping the game again, so this is when I bid you all good luck and God speed. Kick ass tonight, eh.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Let's put up a 7 spot in the first inning and shoot one across thebow of Gorzelanny's pretty little ERA and then get lot's of camera shotsof him watching the rest of the game from the dugout with a towelaround his neck NOW!!!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 I believe I heard some booing for young David
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 We're getting perfect-gamed thru 3. Does it matter who's pitching?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I doubt the rule is still on the books, but Soriano has pine tar pretty far up on his bat.Um, who's in charge of rundown training?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Take that, Tom "El Perfecto" Gorzelanny. Yeah, that's right. We drew a walk off ya.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Wright's average: .235.Wright's OBP: .451.Really? Wow.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Ronnie's making a good point. Wright may be overdoing it.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 That would be hard to do without killing somebody.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Sorry Johan, I meant the Mets O is pretty boring.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 The Mets are pretty boring.[/quote:2850znap]I guess if you're into watching pitching, that was a pretty thrilling clinic Johan just put on, but yeah. Reyes leads off here, he makes them fun to watch if he can reach.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 A fucking sac bunt with Reyes on first , why not hit and run instead?
