Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 That's 87 pitches through six, kids. It's also 18 straight scoreless innings.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 No, definitely 420. He probably only gets to wear it once a year, and definitely can't pack it in his carry-on luggage.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Hey, Henry Blanco ain't afraid to walk.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Blanco clears Pelf with a walk. Zambrano at 118 pitches, unlike the economical Pelfrey.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Blanco's walk eliminates the hit-for-Pelf option. Does Jerry give him the eighth? Would a few more runs change the decision? And what about Naomi? Finally, a faint LGM cheer wafts from the croiwd....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Jose Reyes, off the interstate.I'm totally not down with pulling Pelf here.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Agreed. Only 101 pitches thru 7. Does the relief stint on Saturday come into play?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 It would never fly, but I wonder if there will ever be a manager who, instead of using the throwing day to just throw on the side, uses a starter in games regularly to throw an inning or so. If the guy has to get his work in anyway, you might as well leverage that into getting outs from him rather than crossing your fingers and hoping Raul Valdes can pull a rabbit out of his ass in a big spot.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Managers have done that for short stints while working with a six-man rotation.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Luis flashing the range.Chad Tracy has been a Diamondback his whole career. He feels like someone who has been around the league.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Ike Davis joining the conference on the mound like a real Met as Igarashi gets pulled with an unknown ailment.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Iggy played that bunt like it was a radioactive lizard, and apparently tweaked something in the process.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I'm guessing he was waiting for an Astroturf hop.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Fernando Nieve on a pace for 115.71 games.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Every pitcher in the Mets bullpen has an 'R' in their first name.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Nice K there by Nieve. Let's pad this lead, shall we?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I like big innings. But if somebody gets on, look for mad bunting.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Wasn't Grabow wearing long locks back in his Milwaukee days?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Wrong on two counts there, Edgy. You're thinking of Derrick Turnbow.Congratulations on the bunt, Mets.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Hah! I'm looking for a no-save season for Francisco Rodriguez.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Does Betty Ford have a Buntaholic wing?Meanwhile, a text-based Kaboom for Tatis, and the Reyes is out of the box!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 A burger-sized slab, cooked through so it's crisp outside and warm inside, with their delicious bbq sauce and pickles on the same bun as the pulled pork. It's all I can do to not go back for another, especially with the new location up here.Meanwhile, Jose, Jose Jose Jose Jose, Jose Jose. And Pelf with some leg. It was hard to tell live, but I think they get Reyes at third if they go there, and he may have been out before Pelfrey crossed the plate. Or I could be nuts, but that's how it looked to us.[/quote:116spo08]Yes, Reyes woulda been dead meat had they elected to make that play.Kendall Davis: Meet the Milf[/quote:116spo08]Meet the MilfGreet the MilfCome right out and eat the Milf!Oh that's right, I went there.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 4 hits for JoseJose, which Gary just tells me is the first time he had that (in a 9-inning game) since May '08.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Igarashi has a strained hammy and an MRI scheduled for tomorrow as per Gary Cohen. Sounds ominous.I'll be rooting for the Mets to call up my favorite minor league reliever, not-Sean-Green.
