Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I keep reading this topic title as "Oh, Susan, let's Sterilize the Mets."I'm sure Bob Barker would approve of that.

(There's no WAY he passes on "JOSE, CAN YOU SEE," e.g.)
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I think Sterling just logged on to steal that stuff....." oh it's Met Hunter the bunter don't ya know"
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Even though, when approached with a thimblefull of thought, makes no fucking sense at all.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Sorry, folks, but the Libra in me is forcing me to provide some balance to the Sterling discussion.I remember when my Nets played in the ABA, and Sterling was the announcer. He coined a phrase that was later stolen by Marv Albert (after the ABA/ NBA merger) and Marv is now thought of as the originator of the phrase.Sterling was the first announcer to say a three point field goal attempt was shot from "downtown".Even a blind dog hits an occasional fire hydrant. I gott'a give him that one.We now return this thread to his Yankee foolishness and your resultant nausea.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS! THE CPF'ERS ARE STEALING YOUR BIT JOHN! AND THEY'RE DOING IT BETTER THAN YOU! OF ALL THE DRAMATIC THINGS I EVER SAW!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I've been trying hard to forget it, but it has forced its way into my consiousness and then to this thread.Listening to a WCBS radio sports report a while ago, I heard Sterling call a home run by Curtis Granderson by singing "The Grandy Man can, The Grandy Man can".There.It is now out of me.Now maybe I can forget it.Later
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 His first Granderson HR call was "Oh, Curtis, you are something grand-ish!"I tellya, I fookin love this guy.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Howie had great fun today during the first game talking about how he'll be having nightmares tonight after seeing his buddy Sterling in the every picture with Obama form the WH visit, says he'll have a hard time remembering all the great events in history without thinking of Sterling in there....Declaration of Independence , Sterling is in there....pictures of Churchill and Ike....Sterling is in there.....he expects when he goes home and picks up his copy of St. Peppers that Sterling will be in there ....it was quite funny
