Obviously, projections based on the rate somebody produces after one game has little meaning, but it's worth noting that second place on the team's RBI list is within reach for the guy this season.

It looks like Pedro Feliciano might be bumping Tom Seaver's face off this graphic some time in the next few months:

Also, David Wright's 17th hit of the season will be his 1,000th, making him the eighth Met to reach that mark. The guy who looked like he'd be the eighth will instead (we hope) be the ninth; Jose Reyes is just 40 hits away.

And we'll have a new team doubles king before long. Ed Kranepool has been the leader for decades, but he's only three ahead of David Wright, 225 to 222. He's held off challenges from Howard Johnson, Edgardo Alfonzo, and Mike Piazza, but it looks like Kranepool will finally succumb* to Wright.

And if David gets 95 runs batted in this season, he'll move past Piazza (and HoJo and Kranepool) to take second place in that category, positioning him to take the all-time crown from Darryl Strawberry in 2011.

Young David Wright is entering some elite territory.

*That has nothing to do with sex, Fman.

I forget at times just how freaking good Wright is and has been.

Beltran too if he gets back and stays healthy has a good shot at moving up on both lists.

It's like number one and everybody else.

Most of those were ancient too.
When Gary mentioned Bay being the 10th Canadian to have 1K hits the only ones I could think of ahead of him were Walker & Stairs. Forgot about Puhl being a Canuck but the others are just too obscure. And how did O'Neil get elected to Congress from Mass if he wasn't even a citizen?

Well, blame global warming, but he and Morneau certainly have a sailor's chance at reaching numbers two and three.

David moves up with that last strikeout, but with his PT falling off of late, he has a chance to not break this reaacord.

Nonetheless, he's already exceeded his previous whiffiest season.

Oliver Perez is just three strikeouts (currently tied with Ryan) for 19th on the all-time Mets list. Of course19th is the active leader, Johan Santana, with 496.

I'm not sure if Eric Valent still had rookie status (he was under the AB limit, but not necessarily the service time limit) when he hit 13 homers in 2004.
Kevin Mitchell, 1986: 12
Victor Diaz, 2005: 12
