metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Rox (Jimenez) @ Milwaukee (Gallardo) - that's a matchup I would like to see.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 -- Agreed with Irish. Them boys can sling.-- I could have sworn that Oswalt was hurt.-- Is it possible the Doyers are lining up Billingsley or Kershaw for a home opener?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 After the Mets, I'll be looking for an online stream of Verlander v. Greinke in Kansas City. Watching the MLB Network right now with new analyst John Smoltz doing a breakdown of the matchup. First I've seen of Smoltz as an analyst, and he's outstanding. Comfortable on camera, did his homework, avoids silly jockisms, and of course knows a couple of things about pitching.

Not that I expect anything else form ex-players but from what you are saying about Smoltz then I look forward to seeing him. What is his roll on MLB, studio guy or in game analyst?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have the Nationals pre-game on until Extra Innings kicks in at 1... it's like a Phillies home game in DC. Absolutely pathetic showing by Nationals fans. Edgy and Vladius notwithstanding, this is an awful sports town. Perhaps the locals are out buying McNabb jerseys.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 John Lannan just imploded in Washington on Harry Kalas Memorial Opening Day.Lannan dominates the Mets but can't do anything with the Phils, despite their lefty-heavy lineup.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 The Bucs and Dodgers are tied at 2.I pointed out that the Pirates are batting Duke 8th and SS Ronny Cedeno 9th. Last time around Duke bunted with 2 on and one out and reached on an error, everyone safe. Then Cedeno hit into a 1-2-3 DP.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Padilla's been cruising for the most part in Pittsburgh. If he just stopped letting up homers to supersoph Garrett Jones-- 2 ABs, 2 HRs, 3 RBI-- he'd be fine, and winning. As it stands, it's 3-2, Pittsburgh Dukes.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Pirates winning big now, thanks in part to a pinch-hit bases loaded double from Ryan F. Church.Phils hanging on to an 11-1 lead in DC
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Toronto OD starter in the post-Halladay era, Shaun Marcum, had a 3-zip lead and was working on a no-no thru 6.1 -- and then promptly went BB-1B-3RHR (Nelson Cruz) and the game was tied.Toronto re-took the lead 4-3 and are trying to close it in the 9th with Jason Fraser on the mound.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I am shitting bricks over the idea of Jayson Heyward being a Brave forever.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Six years from now the Yankees will have moved to Salt Lake City, and we won't care about them at all anymore.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Caught the end of that Pirates game in bonus coverage...I really need to make it a priority to catch a game at PNC, don't I? It looks glorious on teevee.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Zambrano 8 earned runs 1.1 ip. It I were a Cub fan I'd be outraged; they had a 3-run top of the first!

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Ex-Met Carlos Gomez went 4 for 5 with a HR in Milwaukee's loss to Colorado.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Also, JJ Putz pitches a scoreless 8th for the victorious White Sox.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I watched baseball all evening, good portions of the Astros/Giants tilt on ESPN2 and then the first few innings of Twins/Angels after that. So great just to watch games that count -- and having teams in 3 different fantasy baseball leagues gives me more reason to want to watch more games.Thinking of getting the MLB Extra Innings package for 2010.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 If you want to watch that much baseball, you might as well get it.
