The sort of thing you might see on a game two scorecard sometime this summer.Mike Jacobs reported to be donning the catcher gear.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Rubin says Green is probably making the team cos of the money he's owed.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Rubin says Green is probably making the team cos of the money he's owed.[/quote:207jzhyx]That kind of thing always sounds awful, but I think it really means that, because of his salary, he's getting extra time (beyond the end of spring training) to prove himself. If it turns out that he pitches like a guy who shouldn't be on the team, they'll find some way to get rid of him.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 true Grim , and perhaps he didn't really say thatLet's get this out of the way first: Bobby Parnell and Sean Green are in some jeopardy of not making the Opening Day roster, although Green would seem to be less vulnerable because his salary is $975,000 even if he's in the minors, whereas Parnell won't make his major-league salary at Buffalo. Still, they have minor-league options remaining, so one (or both in an extreme circumstance) could find themselves at Triple-A Buffalo to open the season
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Jennk Mejia on to pitch the ninth.[/quote:34m7nbbo]He'll be burnt out by the end of ST.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Well, he gave up a run. I do believe he will not make the team.In a low-offense day, Ruben Tejada has two doubles, and I suspect he might.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Mets lose to a team with a pitcher named "Slowie," a secondbaseman named "Dinkleman," and two shortstops named "Tolbert" and "Plouffe."Coming on in relief were "Swarzak" and "Neshek" who I believe figured prominently in the Babylonian exile portion of the Bible.

Guest holychicken Guests Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 How worried should I be about Santana?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Less than maybe you should about Muffy, who's now batting .133 and left six guys on base.I worry aboyt the Muffster not only because I'm afraid of another 2 month suck stretch he experienced last year but that the Mets seem determined to solve the Muffy problem with Mike Jacobs and not Carter... but maybe not Davis...Anyway, Muffy's having a lousy spring is my point.
