Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I'm only about 3.5 months younger than Thole. Eerie.[/quote:lnnkbl69]Before you know it you'll be older than all of them.It happens faster than you can imagine.

That's it.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I think the last major leaguer that was older than me was Eppa Rixey.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Listening to WFAN as I head down Rte 8 to Bridgeport, and Josh Thole's mom - right behind the dugout, with his dad and two ofhis old coaches - almost drowned out Wayne and Howie when he got that hit. Sounded like she was the only fan in the park.Kinda brought a tear to my eye, actually.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Thole lines out in his second turn.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Didn't Evans have a really big first game last year, also at Coors Field?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Three doubles or something like that
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Tholy Moly..nice to see him up.Nice to see David not looking like the great Gazoo..I'm sure the MFY crowd had a bit of fun with the helmet of the future on the Mets best player
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I see that Thole was born on October 28, 1986. (One day after Jon Niese.)Would that have been the day of the parade?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hey how about them Mets? Knocked out that YLDB Marquis already and Misch is hurling a 2-hit shutout. So far.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 The score is Mets 5Rockies 0
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 What's Jerry waiting for? He's long overdue to turn it over to an exhausted Brian Stokes.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Thole is slumping.[/quote:jser3tm7]I always knew it was too soon to bring him up. Now we can't even trade him anymore
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 What's that for Misch now, like 1 run on about 7 hits over 13 IPs as a starter?I ain't Misching you at all.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Right wrobbed by CFer Gonzalez. The only surprising part is that Pagan knew enough to tag and score rather than leaving early and being halfway home by the time of the catch.6-0
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Rooting for Misch to get a CG/ShO.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 He's MISCHievous on the mound. First MLB win in sight. Hopin'.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 A Misch is as good as a Mile High.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Rooting for Misch to get a CG/ShO.[/quote:uv4eo0b1]So much for that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I think at this point he'd settle for the ol 'W'Not only is he winless in his ML career but his [u:3g53g9f1]team[/u:3g53g9f1] is winless in his 12 starts. He took 5 losses and 7 No-Decisions in those 12.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 All but one of those games were with SF. Freaking Bonds provided zero offense for the boy. Bonds, totally unreliable.Jerry hooking Misch. Give that boy a hand, and a Schaefer.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Who are these players and what have they done with the Mets!Great game from Misch!
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I am impressed that Jerry didn't immediately hook Misch after the two homers and then use 4 relievers to finish the inning.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 We wish you well young TholesA journey of a thousand miles begins with a single oy
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Congratulations to Pat Misch on his first Major League win and Josh Thole on his Major League debut.
