Oh, yeah, forgot to mention: the guy they called up to take Upton's slot-- Trent Oeltjen-- is a dirty, thieving Aussie.

I'd rather go bowling with a caveman than hang out with that guy.

Fucking pitcher driving in 2 runs.

Freaking pitchers hitting two-run doubles. Horrible.

Aug 10 2009 08:15 PM

Holy fucking hell. A two run double to the pitcher. Pagan diving for a ball he couldn't catch, again, to let a second run score that would not have had he pulled up.

And so it continues. Maybe Pelf can get Yahoo Serious to pop up.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Aug 10 2009 08:15 PM

A) All else being equal, intentional walks suck as a strategic move.

B) Angel Pagan is NOT a great defensive outfielder. Worse, he seems to think he is.

At this point I'd rather watch a spinoff of the NY NY Sports Sports guys.

Eight straight Mets outs. Much like I am about to do, the Mets seem to be laying down.

At least those contain the word "sac."

As in, "watching Mets games is like a kick to the sac." Or "satchel," as I have been calling it at work to be polite.

This game is paining me in my satchel.

Fuck Mark Reynolds. Fuck Miguel Montero. Fuck them in their stupid asses.

Pagan kicking the ball around like A-Rod out there. Missed two cutoff men.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Aug 10 2009 08:31 PM

Man in scoring postion... and here's the requisite basehit afterward. I'm not sure that even Art Howe could call Pelf a "battler" with a straight face.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Aug 10 2009 08:35 PM

Castillo's gimping again.

Frayed Knot
Aug 10 2009 08:39 PM

It's like every single mistake of any kind this year has led directly to runs. It's bad enough that they've made a ton of them but would it be so bad if we could maybe get away unscathed once or twice?

Fman99
Aug 10 2009 08:40 PM

Tatis with the 2 RBI double. Good thing Sheff's not in there! (Derp.)

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Aug 10 2009 08:44 PM

Spectacularly nonproductive out by Muffy there.

Elster88
Aug 10 2009 08:44 PM

Triple for Tatis, replay shows him jogging slowly out of the box. That couldn't have been an inside-the-parker right?

Frayed Knot
Aug 10 2009 08:49 PM

And now this AB - with no one on - the pitcher swings like a 3rd grade girl.

Elster88
Aug 10 2009 08:53 PM

Wow. I think walking AndyHandy is worse than walking the pitcher.

It seems so. The Community Chest pile has dealt a few bank errors in our favor, though-- yesterday's no-touch-a-the-plate call being one.

Elster88
Aug 10 2009 09:05 PM

They're hitting peas.

Elster88
Aug 10 2009 09:07 PM

He hit that so hard that with Francoeur's arm Oeltjen might not score if Tatis holds him to a single.

Frayed Knot
Aug 10 2009 09:10 PM

So let's review:
- not getting the ball in allows the runner to get to 2nd
- if that doesn't happen then there's no need for the IW a batter later
- also the subsequent FO to CF doesn't result in a tag to 3rd
- and finally, when one more out would allow us to escape unscathed, Pelfrey serves up a 2-out RBI single because there's some kind of fucking law that prevents him from getting an out there.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Aug 10 2009 09:11 PM

As soon as he's in the stretch, he's like a fidgety middle-schooler on a date, trying his first yawn-and-stretch.

I'm kind of sick of watching Pelfrey, frankly, and could do without it for a while.

It's like Pelfrey has two paths he takes; the innings are either 1-2-3 or he gives up runs.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Aug 10 2009 09:58 PM

Nice of Elmer "Hanging Slider" Dessens and Anderson "Badly Timed Jump" Hernandez to each do their best to give Rusty Ryal a hit in his first big-league turn at bat.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Aug 10 2009 10:03 PM

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Aug 10 2009 10:14 PM
