I think Redding is the guy for Monday's start.

BTW, I didn't realize it was official, but Howie said Dessens was DFAed and Cancel recalled.

Anyone see Cancel's jersey #?

Gary acting sort of indignant that the Pirates have completely sold off their core players, seemingly without realizing that the entire core completely sucked.

I would've been a little sad for David if he got robbed of that double.

Mets.com has him as #29 if that means anything

Nice start by Johan. Game score of 76 is his best since May 6th against Philadelphia and his third-highest of the year.

If it's that important that we get Santana out of the game with 104 pitches and a shutout, pitch Misch. This I wisch.

There is no reason this team should ever wear anything but a blue cap at home again, ever. It's full of wins.

Allow me to rephrase. Wearing nothing but hats may be detrimental to performance and comfort. They can still wear pants, etc.

In a shared attack, Berroa is maybe the offensive star of the game.

And gets his average up to .139!

Cory Sullivan said on the post-game show that he chose the Mets because they have a "history of playing great games in September."

With that loss, a second team --- Chicago --- has caught the Rockies in the Wild Card chase. San Francisco caught and passed them during the series also night.

If the Mets win and complete the sweep tonight and the Marlins beat the Braves, the Fish will have caught them as well.

Watch that Nats-Brewers contest. They're tied 3-3, and a Brewer loss ties them with the Mets going into game two tonight. Catching the Brews would importantly put half the teams in the Wild Card race below the Mets.

If Wayne Hagin is looking for a signature call, Fman may have just provided one.
