4 runs on 4 pitches. That's amazing, frankly.

That's enough, John Sterling.

I'm sure Jayson Stark will talk to the Elias people and find that it's the first time since 1833 that that crazy turn of events has happened.

How would you have liked to have just popped into the bathroom for a quick leak at 1-0, and you come back out and it's 5-0? Effin' a.

I thought Redding was just beginning to corral his pitches.
Then he falls apart.
He looked pissed when he got the hook too.

WOOT!
Mets have a hit

At least we're not going to be no-hit in our own park by these motherfuckers tonight.

Perhaps he should have run a little less.

Gardner pops up to Wright for the first out of the seventh. But seriously, David -- and I'm picking nits here -- but USE TWO FUCKING HANDS. Omar, go drag Jerry out back and fire him now, mid-game.

Ya know, this bothers me too, and I was starting to think maybe I'm just being an old fashioned, cause I see this one hand stuff alot anymore.
With David its the swiping the glove down after the catch that equally bothers me, cause I know someday he will flub one of those, and it better not be because of that swiping his glove down business.

Hope it just pops out before he swipes it.
lol.

Whats the logic in not using 2 hands?
Are some taught that that other hand might get in the way or something?

Well, Muff must've stiffed, like, 50 panhandlers this week-- karma is having its prison-way with him tonight.

(BTW: If the Caveman and Soft Rain start tonight? By my count, the Mets have 4 more hits, at least, and 2 runs.)

Yea. I noted this.
I get a lil nervous with Sheff, not so much with Reed.
I dunno, looks like 2 hands for a fly out is no longer the golden rule.

It always seemed a very logical and basic thing to me.

No, I'm certain he's not.

Redding's day fell apaert in a hurry. So can Burnett's.

We sat down for a late dinner and they put up a four spot. Luckily, my beer

This is why I never go to this game (the Saturday home Subway Series game, that is), even though I have a ticket as part of the Saturday plan every year. A win, fine. A loss, burning hell.

As I am writing this, I swear to you, I get a text from my daughter telling me she got in a fight in the ladies room with a drunk Yankee fan. She said the woman acted like she wanted to get physical until my daughter stepped up, and the Yankee fan backed off. My daughter is 5'3, about 110 pounds. Jayzus.

The sight of Yankee fans in the Mets' ballpark, whether Shea or Citi, makes me nauseous. And, honestly, Mets fans acting like fools at Yankee Stadium doesn't thrill me either. I know Interleague play isn't going anywhere, but if it ended tomorrow I'd love it, and I'd say that if the Mets won six a year every year.

And now I have to go to work, because some customer decided at 8:30 on a Saturday night that they needed something done at 11:00, and I'm on call, and I have to go do it. Good thing I don't drink.

Pretty pathetic.
Burnett had some great movement and all,
but I know Church could have walked 3 times
tonight if he just stayed back.

Burnett wasn't "1 hitter" good.
We helped em, Murph was multi-robbed, Redding couldn't stay on the tracks.

Well walking is a good place to start. We're missing a lot of good at-bats with the men on the DL, but they were at least grinding better a week ago. Yeah, they ran into three All Star pittchers, but fundamentals like taking a strike in the ninth (Wright) if the tying run is behind you would be nice to see.

Teixeiria makes a really annoying face when he bats. Yes, I know I've reduced myself to the simple judgment of "I don't like his face." No, I don't even care.

I described it to someone as the ejaculate face (as opposed to the "ejaculate in the face" face which is totally different).

It's the face that a man makes, mid-coitus, except he's always got that look on his face.

Thirded. (Although some of the Phillies games have started to reach a similar women-fighting-women/adults-taunting-children level of nastiness.)

Additionally, though I've seen my share of douches in blue and orange, I'm pretty sure you don't see any Met fan high-fiving any other Met fan about interfering with an opposing player's pursuit of a foul ball... then verbally taunting the player about the other fan's successful interference.
