Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Heilman being brought into a tie game, runners on first and second, one out.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 And he promptly gives up two hits and a bases-loaded walk, and it's 4-2 Tigers, heading to the seventh.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Rays put up 3 in the 8th w/2 out (still batting) and now lead 5-1
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 7-1 to end the inning. I can't watch it, there's something wrong with the signal and all my MLBpackage channels are all too choppy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Phils lose -- Marlins win -- Braves losing -- Nationals ... dunno I haven't checked, but it's really not important anyway.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 I'm confused. The Braves are losing to the Yankees. That's a bad thing, right?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I didn't opine as to whether the Braves losing to the Yanx was a good thing or a bad thing - only that it was occurring.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Nor was my smartass comment necessarily directed at you.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I'll take it. Anybody losing to the Yankees is a bad thing. YMMV.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 And now it's a fact.Personally, the result of that game can't get me upset too much one way or the other. A little bit of good and a little bit of bad in either outcome.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Phillies score four in the first in Tampa, but then the Rays get three in the bottom of the inning and three more in the second inning. At the end of three, it's 6-4 Tampa.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 For the second time in one inning Jeter and Gardner did the reverse Yo La Tengo, letting balls drop in short center field. It's 8-4 with Shea Jones' daddy up, 1st & 2nd, 1 out.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Larry walks, and after McCann fans Escobar bangs one off of Teixeira's gold glove (OK, he made a headlong dive, but whatever), and Andy Patoot takes an early shower. It's 8-6, 1st & 3rd, two out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 You've gotta be a communist if you can't enjoy this. And win or lose our brothers the Braves are tenderizing the MFY bullpen on the eve of the series.WOAh, oh-ohohoh, Ohohoh, Ohohohhhhh...

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 John Smoltz debuts with the Sawx and getes his ass whupped.By the Nats.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 The Rays just tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh and now lead the Phillies 10-4. Burrell just hit a ground rule double so the Rays have runners at second and third with 2 outs and Carlos Pena coming to the plate with a chance to add to the fun.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 To be 1 game out on June 26th with everything the Mets have had happen to them this year is something. They do gots some moxieSays a bit about about the Phillies too.

They do gots some moxieSays a bit about about the Phillies too.Hey now-- the Phils have been down last year's extremely-overperforming closer and this year's extremely-overperforming free agent addition for almost TWO WEEKS COMBINED, and they're still in first place over a division that includes two de facto triple-A teams (LGM!), a team that starts Martin Prado and Jeff Francoeur voluntarily and a team that's worse than most triple-A teams. That's resilience, guy.The 8th passes on cat feet, as the Phils' bats are quiet (no doubt observing a long moment of silence in honor of Michael Jackson).
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 MFYs regained control of the game and went into the 9th with a 5-run lead, but a HR and two runners on scares Joe Giradi into bringing in Mariano. I only hope the NL Eaat contending Braves will gas him before walking off in joyous victory.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Yanx hang on ... but it was nice of Pettitte to make them run through most of their pen even after being handed a big lead -- and then having to go through a 4-hour game prior to their 800 mile trip on the eve of our series.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Not for nothing but Florida won again, that's 5 straight, and they're only half a game behind us.
