Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 That's twice in the last week that Jerry's sac bunts have led directly to runs.I'm kind of torn about that fact.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Farty looks like he's learning pretty quickly. And now Santos with an RBI double! How can a guy with an OBP around .300 manage to have seemingly all of his hits in big spots?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Ahhh, these runs are sooooo sweet.Santos follows FMart with another 2 bagger.Valdez with a bunt single!
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Outstanding right-handed drag bunt single for Valdez. Picture perfect bat control.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Hoping for more there.But I'll take it.3-0 Mets.Putz coming on.Phils up 3-1 in the 5th.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Putz is one annoying fucking pitcher......bloop hits, walks and Bobby P is warming up.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Parnell to relieve Putz. How about them apples
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Shit.3-2 Mets.Parnell does not start off well.DO NOT give this game away!
Guest holychicken Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Props to Parnell for that bailout job even if he did let that one score.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Bobby Big Balls comes back with two big outs.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Interesting figure, the Mets being 0-4 with four 1-run losses this season in rubber games.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Man, I wanted that insurance run bad.OK, go to work K-Rod.gEtErDuN.Phils up 3-2 in the 7th.Myers out and will get that win 250 if the Phils hold on.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Good morning, good afternoon, good night.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I love KRod! A damn good acquisition!

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 He put a little extra on that one, and he put it in the books. I'm so happy about this signing. Not only is he getting the job done, but he's so much fun to watch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 As opposed to Putz who's not only not as good so far but is a chore to watch to boot.It wasn't the hits that pissed me off today but rather the one-out walk that set it all up. Then he went 3-2 to the light-hitting Bonifacio which forced him to come in with a too-good pitch. Yeah it was a cheesy hit (both off him were) which could have been a GiDP if it were a few feet either way, but it wasn't and it wasn't because of all the time-taking, deep-count going, momentum-sucking ABs which preceded it.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Woke up from my nap just in time to see the final pitch of the game. A good ending!
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I had a great day at the Citi!We tailgated with Iubitul, G-Fafif and bmfc1. Steve J. Rogers joined us for a quick burger, and was kind enough to stop by with beers during the game (thanks Steve!). We saw bmfc1 on the field for the National Anthem, and stuck around after the game so that MK could run the Mr. Met Dash.I'm tired, somewhat tipsy (thanks Steve!), and very happy after a nearly picture perfect day at the ballpark
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I neglected to mention that Benjamin Grimm introduced himself and his lovely kids to me after the Mr. Met Dash - it was great meeting another Crane Pooler in person
