I just don't want to forget anything:

Church missing third when scoring the go-ahead run in extra innings.
In the Church game, Beltran and Pagan letting a ball drop between them in the bottom of that same inning.
Beltran getting thrown out at home because he didn't feel like sliding.
Santana losing two games in which he didn't give up an earned run.
Pelfrey balking three times in the same game.

Help me remember some more.

Johan's two losses without allowing an earned run in either.

And then in the Church game, bases loaded one out, five infielders, Stokes gets a grounder to Reed, Reed throws it five feet to the left of Castro at home.

I guess it's incorporated into the Johan thing but the Daniel Murphy error in Florida has to bear a mention of its own.

There was also a flyball that dropped between Beltran and Church I think.

To go with the Pelfey thing, he fell off the mound twice, once to the ground.

Longing for the days of Keith Hernandez, we saw Tatis and Reed throwing home.

Jody Gerut homer on the third pitch in Citi Field.

Saw a line drive go through Wright's legs a few weeks back. Don't see that too often.

Reyes goes into the homerun trot and end up with a double when it hits the wall.
Murphy's several misplays in the outfield

It is hard to believe this team is in first place, because if they'd just played SMARTER baseball they'd have won 5 more games without a single additional hit.

Don't know that I'd count this. Major league hitters sometimes hit home runs off major league pitchers. Stuff happens to everyone.

On the other hand, there's no excuse for walking Jamie Moyer or Shane Victorino with the bases loaded.

This thread reminds me of a thread that needs to be started.

Who out there likes to make tables?

While reading the wound licking thread(s) I'm chuckling at the thought of what might have been listed if Internet baseball boards had been around in the days of the 1962 Mets.
Then I sadly realize much of it would have been the same.

I think the difference is that nobody expected the '62 Mets to be good, and they certainly weren't paid that way.

Further, whether expansion or playoff-caliber, no player on any team has an excuse for screwing up the most basic of fundamentals: calling each other off on fly balls, or missing bases while running. There should always be a healthy intolerance for that sort of stupidity.

I don't think we've been seeing a surfeit of wound licking.

That unlikely leadoff home run ended the hype and excitement of the opening game. I didn't expect it and neither did Gary Cohen. It spelled loss from the start and was the beginning of the first Yips incident that found Mike looking at new Citi Field on his back. No chance a Met like Wright or Beltran could have christened the new place. It was so typical Mets to let the air out right from the start.

Someday, when we're winning
Deep in first, got a lot of beer
Then we will remember
Things we saw this year
