Karros: "Tatis is a gamer. Doesn't care if he's in or out of the lineup." Great analysis.

Way to get into third as at the trailing run by Sheff. I just figure Reed is going in for defense, right? So might as well run him here.

See what happens when you let Castro bat for himself in the ninth?

Jerry = learning.

Good point. That Wednesday afternoon game against the Marlin still stings.

They using Putz here in a save situation to give Rodriguez a rest, or to stop Putz from whining about pitching in the eighth?

Rodriguez has pitched four days in a row, on two coasts, getting a win, two saves, and a two-inning ND in a tie game.

Putz was sitting a 95 with his fastball. Nice to see.

"The Mets have never swept a four-game series in SF" -- Kenny Albert, several times today

1) Four-game series are RARELY swept ... by anyone at anytime

2) Now cut that number in half (less really) to do it on the road

3) then figure that four-game series are rarely PLAYED ... particularly by inter-division opponents where first 2, and now 1 visits per year are the rule

Networks are great at passing off meaningless trivia as if important data.

Good win! Nice to see them get some runs for Johan.

Agreed on the early run support. It's nice to see, but more importantly it
shuts up the media for five more days about how he probably wants to jump
off bridges and take a few down with him in unbearable frustration.

And I just have to say in parting, Karros ain't nearly as bad as some of you
made out for what he's called on to do.

Haven't seen any of the "Mets lack an edge" columns lately, either.

ceetar - "anyone seen my broom?"

I'm quite sure that if all goes well tomorrow the solemn old guy will show up to peddle his wares.

And he sounded like he had been saving that one up all year.
Who needs John Sterling?
That line was a classic.

I love the 4 PM start, I get my afternoon nap in and don't miss 5-6 innings of the game like usual.

Same deal tonight with the 8 PM primetime game.
