I know this is out there somewhere, but I'd like to see a comprehensive list of who's been on yearbook covers. Here's what I got for the sixties.

1962: Symbolic Mets baby (1st time).
1963: Mr. Met (1st time).
1964: Symbolic Mets Baby (2nd time), Generic National Leaguer (1st time), and Casey Stengel (1st time).
1965: Symbolic Mets Baby (3rd time).
1966: Symbolic Mets Baby (4th time).
1967: Symbolic Mets Baby (5th time) and Generic National Leaguer (2nd time).
1968: Symbolic Mets Baby (6th time) and Gil Hodges (1st time).
1969: Jerry Koosman (1st time), Jerry Grote (1st time), and Tom Seaver (1st time).

In other words, I find the answer to this question highly suspectable. Seaver's been on a total of eight Met Yearbook covers, including the 2002 version, celebrating the Mets 40th anniversary, and the 1993 "30 Seasons at Shea" yearbook. I suppose that Seaver is likely to appear on any Met cover that features a photographic collage of Met history, deservedly so. Which Met yearbook cover is your favorite? I like the Willard Mullin covers more than the others, especially the 1967 cover with Kid Met ascending stairs, a misstep (pun!) here or there. I kind of do also, which sensibly makes that Harreslson and Boswell in the crosshairs, but I'm sticking to my guns on Kranepool vs. Shamsky, and could use some support on that one.

I don't see how Shamsky (last horizontal frame) is even an issue. That's Shamsky and I'd bet anything. Yaz didn't appear on the cover of this one, but here's the Red Sox yearbook for the season following their loss to the Mets in the 1986 WS:



No sign of their everyday first baseman, Bill Buckner on that cover.

You left out the 1972 yearbook from your list, even though your total of six through 1989 is correct. Seaver's been on a total of eight Met Yearbook covers, including the 2002 version, celebrating the Mets 40th anniversary, and the 1993 "30 Seasons at Shea" yearbook.

I suppose that Seaver is likely to appear on any Met cover that features a photographic collage of Met history, deservedly so.





Which Met yearbook cover is your favorite? I like the Willard Mullin covers more than the others, especially the 1967 cover with Kid Met ascending stairs, a misstep (pun!) here or there.
